My rear diff sounds like it's going to grenade at any second. I just need it to get me to Yorba Linda on Friday for new gears and pinion bearing.

True story. My OEM one was dead silent for something over a hundred k. Until it wasn't.

    Fixed :luvya:

I never understood why more folks don't run these:

....or more importantly: learned the correct way to set driveline angles.

I think my favorite exploding diff story would have to be this one...August 14 2011 night race memorial run. First time out in the truck after full rebuild. got there at 9pm finally 4am after running truck all night, some how cracked the carrier. Buddy came up the next day and brought me my spare axle housing I had on the side yard that I think came with the truck that a bought in 2009? Wasn't sure if there was any oil in the housing so I crack the drain plug only to find WATER! pouring out of the housing lol swapped 3rd and was back in business. Minus the fact that I went from 4.88 and a locker to 3.73 open ahhhh good times.

So I want to go to Santa Barbara this weekend with the GF. Hotels are crazy expensive and the "campgrounds" look like interment camps. Shes been wanting to go camping for awhile so I figured this would be the best chance. Any off the grid campgrounds in the mountains nearby? Looking to just sleep in the bed and hopefully not be bothered by anyone. Best case scenario would be to get so tucked away in there that we have to place to ourselves... Then head to SB in the morning... Not sure if its that remote tho... Any suggestions or tips fellas?!?!

North of SB in Los Olivos is Fig Mountain. You can find a lot of dispersed camping up there

Yeah! Buy an adventure pass if you don't have one and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of dispersed places.

@inv3ctiv3 is the man to ask. Pretty sure @fishfinder knows of some too.

I've never been to Davy Brown but have always wanted to. Maybe I'll make a trip there while my fiancee is in school down south haha.
