Go! it's super fun. Big party. At least it looks super fun. Somehow Lindsay and I are always busy when it's fiesta. This weekend we are moving. I lived there for 4 years and never went

Went to Davy Brown 2 weekends ago. Had the ENTIRE campground to ourselves, probably because people thought it was closed or because they thought there would be smoke from the fire? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, The creek was flowing and is cold, coming from a natural spring. we built a dam and made a shallow watering hole....deeper swimming hole a short way up. Campfires WERE allowed in developed camp grounds at that time. No adventure pass, that private company comes by to collect money and a ranger drives by to check.....Once deer hunting season starts, place fills up and people use generators/flood lights so watch out for that!

Yep, Fiesta was fun for a while for me, just not into it anymore. The fair is also in Ventura County at the Fairgrounds on the beach, about 30-60 minutes south of SB depending on traffic. It has also been really warm and humid in these parts, but the ocean feels really nice if you are into that sort of thing.

    Good luck.

They'll charge you $20/night to camp Davy Brown. It got privatized recently and they do enforce it. If you have a tent, pad and sleeping bag, I'd just park at Tajiguas and sleep on the beach. It just north of Refugio State Beach.

By it being privatized, does that mean that somebody bought it? Because if so, it's not cool to not pay to use it. Essentially stealing right?

No, but management was privatized. Supposedly the bathrooms are kept slightly cleaner now. If you just wanted to park overnight (show up in the dark and leave at dawn), you could probably do that here: https://goo.gl/maps/S7zDnk9hbhP2

Okay haha. I was thinking if I went and bought a campground and wanted to charge people to stay, I'd be pissed if people didn't.

I've also seen people stay overnight here, but you will get wet if the fog rolls in:

Hello 805 from Arroyo Grande. Never had the thought to check the SoCal regional board for an 805 thread. Looking forward to reading up on camping and trails I haven't discovered yet.
