I did not, never heard of them, but just checked and they're closed today. If I can't get it done this weekend I'll give them a call

Never know. Turns out the guy who owns that place use to work at my company, but I don't know him. Never underestimate an engineer. Haha!

I don't know, but the dude that answered the phone said he transferred me to their "head mechanic" to give me the quote :notsure:

    Ha!

    Hi everybody!

My name is Joel. My wife and I really need some help.
We came to the dealership to get an oil change on our vehicles and when they were doing the inspection the found that my UCAs (the bushings?) are extremely worn out. They have quite a bit of play in them.
My passenger side axle boot is torn and they suggested I replace the right side axle (the one that goes to the wheel). It's a 4x4.

That along with replacing the rear rotors and brake pads up front they estimated the entire cost to be about $1,300.00 which sounds about right except for the part where my wife and I are in a really tight spot right now and we really can't afford that amount up front. Loans or credit cards are out of the question since we're trying our best to get out of debt.

If I were to order the parts would someone here be willing to help me install the UCA bushings and right front axle, or just the boot if that's possible.
We live in an apartment in Ventura so we would need to do it in someone's garage.

Does anybody here have any experience?

I actually installed the lift on my truck, bumpers and snorkel, with some help of course. But right now we don't have the space or the tools any more to do it.

Damn, sounds like a tough situation there. I won't have a free weekend until November sometime. And unfortunately I've never replace either of those myself. (Assuming you're talking about OEM UCAs)

Hopefully someone can lend you a hand

Heading to Baja soon for a two week trip, need new tires before we leave. Recommendations for a tire ship reasonably close to Santa Barbara?

    Thanks!

Big Brand in Goleta, Dal Pozzo in Goleta. Big Brand is a chain and you can get a warranty - I've used my tire warranty three times in 2017 after picking up nails on separate occasions.

Picked up this old girl on Sunday for the gambler 500. Had all the issues it had taken care of in a couple hours and now starting to do the fun mods. For those of you unfamiliar with the gambler 500 it's a cheap car off road navigational rally. This one will be going from barstow to Vegas and back.

Good luck, that should be fun!

This was a good week to make sure she can handle the heat and still run.

I was wondering who that was...

Anybody got a good alignment shop in the area, need to be able to adjust Light Racing UCAs?
