    Sup fellas, new to T.W.
I reside in Ventura, anyone know of a cool spot/trail to take my truck in the 805? Ventura or Santa Barbara? Possibly beginners stuff since I’m new to the off road scene. Any feedback would be appreciated!

You can check out Ballinger Canyon. It is off HWY 33 just east of Cuyama.
Hungry Valley, off HWY 5 near Frazier Park. Both these places are a little over an hour drive from Ventura.

Ballinger Canyon map: All the wide green trails are 4WD, even the solid blue is drive-able in 4WD.

    Hmmm...
Does hungry valley get crowded on weekends?
& I’m guessing no dispersed camping allowed?

On a weekend like this, not too bad. If you get out of the campground area/valley and onto the trails, you'll run into very few. Holidays are a different story.

Camping only allowed in the defined camping area. But, if you were to make camp off-piste, no one would probably know once darkness arrived.

I ended up at Ballinger Canyon. Closer drive and conditions were excellent. No dust, moist dirt and a few small puddles. One camper and 5 day users. There were more hunters than riders on the trails. I only met two riders out there. The air temp was 45, but it was warm in the sun.

Not a Tacoma video...but the 4WD trails were in good shape. This was not one of them....

Good a bit windy on Saturday Sunday was nice though. It was pretty empty out there which was nice. Sand was nice and smooth due to hardly any trucks out there
