There’s no such thing as “closed” if you channel your inner Florida Man and just send it.

 

It turns out, the Internet is not always right. The is definitely open. Just got home and it was super clear tonight!

I had to lock away that inner Florida man a long while back. He's no longer welcome after a certain incident in Baja back in 2001.

 

Anyone been catching shit off the beaches in the morro area lately? Maybe I just haven't been lucky.

 

Are any of you guys in a 4x4 club? I been checking them out and trying to decide on a cool group. There isn't one in lompoc so id have to join a close ish one. Point magu santa barbara or santa maria are the ones ive seen

 

I have been checking them out too. Leaning toward the Santa Maria group. Now I just have to make one of the monthly meetings and join.

I'm going Also. Headed there next weekend to. Friend of mine in a stuck ish 4 runner wants to get a feel for it.

 

I wheel a lot planning a Johnson valley trip soon. Locally there isn't much. Tho there's that one place but ive heard they give out 200 dollar trespassing tickets if they catch you.

There was a 2nd gen tacoma offroad model stuck pretty bad there a month or 2 ago.

 

I've been down there on my motorcycle, Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 and '98 SR5 4x4. But, that was years ago. Don't get me triggered....

The city, PD and SBC sheriff will look the other way at all the bums, thieves and drug addicts squatting down there. These 'squatters' are once again living, crapping, peeing, dumping, starting fires and discarding needles in the riverbed. But, get one dad with kids, recreating in their 4WD or OHV down there and the city and sheriff start freaking out. It's all about the $$$. You can't generate revenue from a bum, but you can easily extort revenue from a citizen trying to have a good time recreating.

If they let us recreate in the riverbed, it would make squatting down there less desirable for these undesirables and they would probably move on down the road.

 

I also heard that the city pulled their 'River Patrol' officer off that duty, citing budget concerns. It might be easier to get away with wheeling down there now. You just have to watch for the sheriff.

 

I used to go a lot but the bums make it all sketchy. Yeah tell me about it meth labs grand theft auto gangs murderers. All are less important than those 4 wheelers messing stuff up. I have some cool footage of me breaking my axle down there last year. Full send
