Lol I'm from Ventura, I just drove out to camelback earlier this year to buy my current truck. They were around 5k cheaper than anything out here!

Does anyone have a recommendation on where a shop can drop my headliner and change out my leaking third brake light? I went to Toyota in Simi Valley for a price quote and they said it would be $600+.

Thought that was supposed to be covered under warranty?

I told them that but since it’s a 2016 with 85k miles. They said otherwise

Try a different dealer, that doesnt sound right since its something you didnt mess with thats causing the leaking

Hey fellas, SB local here. Looking for some trails to hit in the area. I've explored East/West camino cielo but haven't been in years and want to know if there are any loops that I can drive up there. Also, how do you look up to see if a fireroad is open to the public or not?

Ventura is not to far away. Might be easier to drive than deal with freight shipping. Still looking for a local place to check the balance on this shaft.

I have to take my driveshaft off and bring it down to there soon to have them put on a new carrier(center support) bearing.

I just replaced the carrier bearing on mine. Piece of cake but did NOT fix the mild driveline vibration.

That’s not something I have the time or tools to tinker with these days. It’s awesome however that you were able to take care of that! Bring your driveshaft in and William’s shop will have that thing rebalanced in no time.

Now, if the vibration has to do with driveline angles, they may or may not be able to advise you. I’d call them up. He’s a straight forward guy.

I didn't want to be without a vehicle for ~3 days so I tackled it myself. All said and done was less than 2 hours with nothing special for tools.

What CV Axles are you guys using on your trucks? I had CVJ’s Remanned ones with the red silicon inner boots and those boots seems to keep failing. So, I ordered a new OEM CV Axle in hopes that it will last longer. Thinking about getting another OEM CV Axle to head that future boot failure off at the pass.

Any advice would be appreciated. I’m tired of swapping axles out.

Usually I go all oem, but with cv axles it's tempting to go aftermarket and buy 2 or 3 for less than the cost of oe, and keep at least 1 spare in the truck on trips

Especially if you have a lift, I don't see the point in paying for oe just to wear them out with high angles

100k+ mile on my originals and haven't even had to replace a boot. I have had a new reman in the garage as a spare for like 4 years nows. Still untouched. Sorry, I'm no help for you.

Can't you just regrease and replace the boot rather then replacing the axle? It's more time, but I'm pretty sure it's cheaper, right?

    Thanks for your input Chris.
I think it’s my angles that are causing the boot fins to rub. I’d like to lower the front end a bit....I just don’t want that stink bug look. Also, if I take some of the preload off the coil overs, then I get a lot more body roll(which I don’t care for). Hopefully soon I’ll be swapping out my rear leafs to another pack(same brand etc) and the truck will sit level & a touch lower in the rear.
