been in this situation when dealing with bad fab work. its frustrating when i was told my truck would be done with in 6 hours and instead i didnt get it back till 2 days later!! and its my DD! i was pissed! he was very late on updates, never answered the business phone or his personal! and didnt even completely finish it! i had to finish it myself and then he also said since he took so long he would let me use his CNC to cut out the skid when i get one and weld on light tabs for free to my bumper i made. so not to long after i had aluminum sheet for skid and lights for the bumper, and he charged me for CNC time and then didnt even cut it out right! the light tabs took forever to!! it was like a 30min job max and took all day! told myself its the last time i ever go to his shop

EDIT: sorry got side tracked in my venting and forgot wat i originally meant to post, but just see wats going on and figure it out more, if he really is slacking and not caring for ur truck, then dont go back, and if he has alot on his plate and is just having a hard time, i would be angry but understanding and not let it affect my future bussiness with him.. just my 2cents

i do fab my own stuff up now:D only cause its way cheaper(cause im a piss poor HS student) haha and because i cant really drop my truck off somewere to get work done, i have to use it as my DD to get places

Edit: because when i went to get the skid cut out and the light tabs on, i was there, and all he does is fuck around and tell stories, get side tracked and barely work. then complain how he works all the time and sooo much. and if he would actually work, i bet he wouldnt be working "all the time". just ask DSPAID he was there for a little while i was waiting on my truck

I didnt mean it as rude as it sounds. Whenever I make stuff for myself I double the time I think it should take and then add another day. It never works like its supposed to

If we all had the room, tools, and being taught how to fab, I'm sure all of us would fab our own shit. I'd do everything myself of I has the three things I just listed :(

Remember I'm not trying to give this guy a bad name at all so DO NOT TAKE IT LIKE THAT. His work is legit. But communication skills eh. I just want answers THATS it.
