I was at Refugio 6/27 with my lady and the kids....they ended up asking everyone to get out of the water mid afternoon due to a shark sighting at or around Tijigaus by someone in kayak. The waves were small that day but some people were out on longboards.... I was swimming & playing frisbee

Does anyone with a 4WD 2nd Gen Double Cab Tacoma have Bilstien 5100 Adjustables with OME 885's up front?

I'm trying to weigh out my options for the front end...
I basically need to replace my suspension because I have a nasty spacer lift not and I hear that's no bueno and can cause harm to other parts of the truck. I'm primarily on road majority of the time but would like to be able to romp around up on East Camino & some fun spots on the 395 and up in the Sierras as well. Any suggestions?

Here is the nasty spacer lift I'm planning on replacing:

My lady & I kept swimming for a bit but, all that happened close to the time we had to leave anyhow so....no biggie. Yeah, they are a little silly with that stuff but, they do have to legally cover themselves. Now, if this was a beach without lifeguards & state and/or city funding, then that would be a totally different story I would think..

well you've already got a proper uca, so you're one step ahead. just grab yourself a set of coil overs and call it good. sounds like you don't need to spend 1k plus on some kings w/ resi's so the 5100's should be fine. I'm rocking the fully adjustable ones from toytec w/ eibach springs and beat on them pretty good (need to save up for the previously mentioned kings). ride great around town and are a significant upgrade from stock as far as offroad.

    hope this helps

I'm looking to get a bit more lift up front than the current spacer lift is giving me. Do you think the 5100's with OME 885's would be the way to go?

Kings are out of my price range...I considered Icon but...I'm not too sure if I really can justify putting $1200.00 into just the front end when I will have to upgrade the rear shocks & leafs as well.

    :D

I'm thinking about it but I want more lift than what I currently have in the front. How much lift will the 5100's & OME 885's give me?

the 5100's are ride height adjustable and can get you up to, if not a little over 3" of lift from stock. with my eibach springs and the fully adjustable preload collars on mine, i am sitting about 3.5" of lift
