Hey all...I currently have 285/75/16 Hankook MT's on 16" Eagle Alloy wheels that resemble Mickey Thompson Classics on my 08 Double Cab Short Bed. When I'm driving at lower speeds, the steering wheel moves back and fourth close to an inch. I believe this only happens when the texture in the road isn't consistant ie: bumps, cracks, etc.
Is it possible that my Camber and/or Caster is off? (not that I know how to check any of that). My buddy has a Tundra with 285/75/16's and his steering wheel doesn't do that...
    Any ideas?
I need to fix this asap as I plan on driving with my lady to Mammoth soon.

Have you checked to see if you have any play in your front end. Sounds like you might have some bad ball joints

I went through something similar with my truck, turned out to be a terribly bent/unbalanced rim up front. If you have the time, jack up your truck and switch around the tires from front to rear, and see if you still have the same problem. That rules out tires/rims.
Otherwise, grab your tire at 3 and 9 o'clock, and try to wiggle it side to side, and also up and down (6 and 12). That will test your Bj's.
For steering, have a buddy wiggle the wheel slightly while you watch the sterring linkage and see what moves before the tires move, if anything.
Since it only happens on rough roads and low speeds chances its your BJ's or something just isn't torqued right. Camber and castor shouldn't effect steering wobble... sounds like something is physicallymoving when it shouldn't, whether it be steering within loose bushings, balljoints wiggling, or something else. Best to figure out what it is before you drive more...
