I feel your pain....I have a desk though...

Pushing paper is like being a gear or sprocket in a large machine. All you do is your job that keeps all the other parts doing theirs but you never have a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

Ya it on the list, would like to take a welding class to to learn some of the basics properly....or just hang at a shop here n there and pick some brains.

Either way sucks that I have broke pretty much 5 out of last 6 trips out. Especially cuz I put strengthening over performance. Part of the game I guess. I need a second job just to pay for truck shit! If only I didn't need to sleep.

Mayb I'm just old and worn out :)

Coffee is what saves me almost everyday!! plus redbulls get $$$$$ and coffee is free at work

Sounds like my average day, minus the baby of course! I guess I should have no excuses when it comes to finishing projects up.....

I've got a Hobart 140 mig and basically have just taught my self to weld/YouTube and some pointers here and there from people that know what there doing. I'm not a great welder by any means but for my needs it's perfect.

Not yet. On my rear bumper I even have some 1/2" on there and for that I just did multiple passes and made sure to go slow. But yes a 220 would make things like that way easier

The process of welding is not as similar to soldering as you would think. I can understnad how one would think it is due to both processes bonding 2 or more pieces/parts together with the heating of a 3rd material to hold them together but....It's pretty different. Is it possible I missed the fact that you were being sarcastic?

I'm not that good at it myself but, my brother is Very good at welding. Mig, Tig, Oxygen & Acetylene, Arch...you name it he does it. Iron is the easy stuff.... When you start welding Stainless Steel and Especially Aluminum is difficult. I think he uses a Miller Dynasty 350.

hahaha i think it definitely was... that was fucking gnarly! we were up there for what seemed like forever

i have the hobart 210, its 110 and 220. works great, got it on Amazon for like 900$ ish shipped. i taught myself watching a few youtube videos and another member on here tutored me via text/pic. now i can lay a damn dimey bead and i've really only spent maybe 5 hours total welding.
if you understand how it works and how to manipulate the adjustments its not really too hard. of course there is a lot that goes into it but its nothing that you cant teach yourself, especially with all the resources available on the internet. defintely an investment i'll have for life.
spring for the 210... ive been using a 110 dryer socket and it works great, but i cant wait to have a 220 socket at my new house.
i've been burning on my truck, friends trucks, building small things (skidplate mounts for my supermoto, gussets, mounts, etc etc). It will easily pay for itself
