So I got my whip today. I plan on heading out in the morning around 9:30-10:00. I have no idea where I'm headed or where to go.

I got a decent look at it with some binoculars before the mesa fog ruined it. Looked like the death star.

Yeah, we're getting fogged in here in the Goodland. Should have went up to West...

So I am completely unfamiliar with where to go. I was out on the beach this morning with my gal and truck. We got on from Pier Ave and just drove up and down the beach. All I saw were ATV's and Rhino's...am I missing something? I mean...did I go to the right place? Whatever the case, I had fun just to get off pavement.

And then we saw some gated off areas and turned back around and headed north. :(

It was also very confusing...I didn't know where Sand Highway began or ended. So the gal and I literally went up and down the beach twice.

you have to turn in, away from the beach to get to the fun stuff. There are little "highways" that lead in all long the beach

Is the sand "off the beach" easier to get stuck in? I passed like 3 or 4 people that got stuck just on the beach. I don't feel like having to get towed out of the dunes. I'm running completely stock other than bigger wheels and tires.

Yes it is easier to get stuck in which is why you air down your tires to help. But Ya u just drive into the dunes but the reason ur only seeing atvs is because it's a Tuesday

Yes it is much softer. If u stick to the pole line and or just keep the skinny down, and only stop facing down u will be fine. People out there will stop to help. A lot I the time just digging out with ur hands a bit can help to.

So where they go I can go too? I saw 1 completely bone stock silver Tacoma out there. I'm at 21 up front and 18 in the back. I'm on 33.2x10.8.18 wheels and tires. They aren't making that big of a footprint. I was afraid I was gonna get stuck a few times so I throttled up a bit. Air down more?

Honestly with how hesitant you are sounding I would probably not go out. Ur always bound to get stuck a few times the first time you go out and with no trucks out doesn't sound like a smart idea. Ya prerunners usually air down to 12 sometimes less

This is probably why my gut was telling me NOT to go out there and chance getting in trouble. I'd feel more comfortable going with people who have been before and know the ropes. I'll be here until Sunday the 20th if that makes a difference. Other wise it'll probably be a while before I'm out here again.

There's no doubt stock trucks can drive out there. It's really about airing down and driver ability
