Sounds like a great time...thanks for the info. How difficult is sherman 4x4 trail...I found some info on it that says expert 4x4 technique...but hard for me to compare to stuff back home. I guess how tight are the corners and how much off-camber is there. All I got at the moment is my stock setup, was hoping to lift and bigger tires but, baby on the way. I've been through some pretty steep cutback trails(turned out to be atv trails) in 2 feet of snow, and then greasy mud after it melted last winter back home but had to have chains on all 4 tires...

I got some buddies stationed out in Rosamond and Ridgecrest so that makes it easy to meet up with them too. Now just got to get the wife to either want to go, or let me set up a guys weekend.

U should take the challenge of trying to get up the hill climb by the playground. Devin made it up last time

He got up it easily last time I was up there. It looks a lot worse than it is.

I was tempted to buy that one (what do you think of it so far?), but opted for this one instead and have found these two books very useful:
But can you just have one? I may pick that one up, and one for CO and for Moab too. Already have the High Sierra and Northern Sierra versions too. Nice to have in the truck on trips- I like hard copies instead of dealing with iPads (not quite there yet) and virtual maps. Helps make planning easier in terms of areas to go.
