Have you guys done the cig lighter always on mod? Where is the relay under the steering column? Before I start taking stuff apart, I'd like to know exactly where I'm going. (different sites have said under the hood or under steering column)

I just use my Scangauge II MPH setting and adjust it to match a GPS.

It wont change the speedometer but its better than buying a $70 tool.

Thanks guys! I plan on picking up a Scangauge pretty soon, but would still like to have the speedo be correct if I can.

When I'm driving around the truck with 400k miles on her, I don't want the speedo to be off by 40k.....

No worries...I double checked that TTORA thread and the links they provide in it no longer work. Sorry man....

This may help you determine the speedometer difference you're trying to correct http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php?tires=265-70r16-285-75r16 Just plug in what the stock tire size is and what you're going to. I'll keep my eyes open for a fix for ya.

It's official! I'll be pitting with BFG Tires in Baja for the 500 next weekend!!! Who wants to tag along and get put to work? We can also mess around and drink beer like good gringos. My truck is full (Dog and copilot) so you'd have to supply your own transportation.

Leaving Thursday night to stay at a friend's in SD. ...leave the morning of Friday, June 6, cross at the Tecate border crossing, go down Hwy 3 to KM85, head east on a dirt road to the pit location. Hang out, do some bench racing over some cold beers and call it a day. Dry camp at the pit location. We're at Race Mile (RM) 359, so we won't see any cars until late afternoon, early evening on Saturday, so there is no rush to get up and get moving Saturday morning.

We'll spend Saturday getting the pit set up and waiting for the bikes to show up and watch them go by. I suspect we'll be up most of Saturday night pitting vehicles as they come in. We'll be there till the last car comes in or the checkpoint near us closes, whichever comes first. Once we have the pit closed/packed, we'll make a dash for the border and be home Sunday morning.

If you want to tag along, we can put you to work in the pits, or you can hang out and watch the action and do your own thing. It's an easy Baja trip with relative safety in numbers for those that have considered Baja travel but have never been. Passport and Mexican auto insurance are all you need out of the ordinary. No need to even change any $$$, no planned stops anywhere to spend it!

Damn, now that sounds like fun!! Something I've never done before, but would really like to do! If I didn't have plans already for that weekend I'm probably head down there with you!

Sounds like you're going to have fun though!

I wish I could, but I work until 5 and then have some errands to do after work. I can ride tomorrow morning though! You missed Ride Night last night! Quite the fun small group! It's always better because we can haul ass with minimal waiting.
Yes, I've already marked my calendar! If I don't pit again I'll just tag along with the veterans so I get the best experiences. Nov 12-16, but I'll just go down for the weekend race probably.
