A little rain over the weekend cleans everything up. Can't complain!

Woke up this morning to a flat tire. Looked around and noticed all the cars in my lot had 1-3 flat tires. I called PHPD to let them know...apparently they've received over 30 reports of vandalism from last night in hueneme.

Some asshats were pretty busy last night.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Why people do things like that is beyond me.

yeah it is pretty messed up, but I do feel a little bit better knowing I wasn't targeted. It's unlikely to happen again.

That still blows!! Did they actually slash the tires, or just take the air out of them?

I had to buy a new tire. Looks like a screwdriver was taken to the sidewalls.

    Deductible is $250 - tire was $230

I sort of wish they would have gotten all 4 of my tires, and smashed out my leaky rear window.

    Hello ko2's!

Since some of you guys shoot - I was perusing Big 5 yesterday and the guy behind the counter started talking about .17 WSM ammo. What are you thoughts on this caliber for plinking around? (I'm thinking about getting a firearm for shooting targets in the desert)

    Sucks.

I had my truck broken into several months back days before I moved from Nor Cal down here. Was in the middle of the King Fire and was evacuating. Had about $800 worth of stuff stolen, but because they jimmied the door open and there was no "visible sign of forced entry" my insurance didn't pay out.

Still have yet to accumulate back all the stuff that was stollen. Most was sentimental though and is irreplaceable.. Lighter I got in Budapest, hand made leather sheath, daypack I have had for a decade that I have taken everywhere, etc. But they grabbed all my tools and and dog stuff too.

People suck for sure. A couple days prior to the vandalism, my neighbor caught someone on their upstairs balcony in the middle of the night...we share a common wall. I moved from the San Fernando Valley to get away from this shit! I guess as the population grows, people spread out and the shit goes with it.

what do you want to shoot? just plink targets? they make folding .22's that are nifty for hiking / survival.
i recommend a handgun for overall convenience, you can take it on long rides and camping trips and shoot targets and protect yourself.
shotguns are great for skeet and clays but less so for target practice, since well, its a shotgun and kinda hard to miss
rifles are great you just have to decide how much you can carry around and ammo is on the pricier side. my gf loves to shoot my ar

I recently picked up an old Marlin camp 9 carbine. It has become my new favorite plinker!

I really really reallllly have been wanting a marlin 30-30 lever....
I know, not a plinker or what you asked but I have been drooling over that gun for years now. Being a starving student, I cant justify it (or have it where I currently live) but I think I might save up for it as a grad school graduation present next year.
Either that or a Weatherby Vanguard series 2 (30-06)..
The Weatherby would be a better versatile hunting gun, but that lever action is so nice and capable enough for the majority of my hunting

Yea, I just want to shoot can and paper targets. My friend already has a 410 shotgun that we attempt clays with haha. I like the weight of a rifle. I don't care about carrying a gun on my hip like a pistol and I'm not going to sleep in the tent with the gun...I haven't had a problem yet! (you better not stalk me now)

You're too close to Oxnard for that.

Get a Ruger 10/22. Go talk to the guys at Dodge City, they should be able to help out.

I always have a gun in the tent when I sleep
