The last time I was up there I saw a Honda Fit, Civic and even a Mercedes C300. Anything will make it if you drive right. Your truck will feel like you're driving the 405 freeway in Los Angeles.

Have fun, be safe. The ranger has seen many a truck go over the cliff due to DUI or excessive speed (I've seen it happen once and luckily had a long enough strap to pull their truck back on the road).
Don't forget your campfire permit: http://www.preventwildfireca.org/Campfire-Permit/
It's one less thing for them to hassle you about..."just in case"

Yeah I'll definitely keep the speed down. I love my truck too much to touch the keys if I've been drinking haha. Thanks for the heads up! That cliff would be especially bad with people in the bed.

Idk personally I wouldn't push the people in the bed with that ranger he seems pretty strict unless Ur just talking about going from Ur camp to the springs. But if Ur talking about them in the bed from when it turns to dirt idk if it's worth the ticket. I had the ranger give me a hard time about some spirited driving. As said before when I have gone I passed a Mercedes a mustang and a civic I would suggest having Ur friends just take it easy and drive in

Yeah, x2 on this^. I've never had any issues with the Rangers up there but I still wouldn't risk it. That might just be the old man side of me talking though. :notsure:

I'd rather not get busted for anything. Can't afford a ticket too well right now especially. We were concerned if the Scion tc could make it so we were just going to pile in but I guess worst case I could always pull them out of something.

As long as it's not lowered, you'll be good in the scion.

Awesome! Thanks! I never got a chance to check it out so we didn't want to get there and not be able to make it. It sounds pretty easy though so we will give it a go!

You'll need 33" tires, a winch and one locker at a minimum.
It's recommended to have a snorkel for the dust and 2" deep water crossings
You should have a full laptop GPS system to make sure you don't get lost on the single road that goes back there
Don't forget HAM radio and 10 foot tall antennas :p
Oh - and 10 gallons of extra fuel just in case :D

What do you know? My friend just let me know he plans to lift his Scion 8 inches and throw some 35" tires on. He already has the radio and snorkel. Plus, his fuel tank is after market and holds 40 gallons. I'm really glad I'll have him there in case I need the tacoma pulled out of a pot hole. It's not very good at handling dirt.

If he's going to be doing that, make sure he goes with Long Arm suspension and might as well convert to 4x4 with solid axles and chromoly shafts. Full exo cage is a must if there will be dust. That fuel tank better be CARB approved or the "man" will find out :spy:

Should he go full Long travel kit? I think so. Let's make it a machine capable of winning the Baja 500.

They would crush haha. My dad used to bring me lug nuts all the time that would fly off the tires in the pits. I started collecting them when I was little. Haven't been to a race in forever.

Anybody want to buy a 2ND Gen high clearance rear plate bumper. No swingout. Trying to get rid of my old one. It's taking up too much space in the garage. Super cheap!
