The parking lot for the camp ground is about 100 yards from the actual sites.. so I think what they mean on the site is no vehicles in the camp ground. I've slept in the parking lot before without any issue..

Yes, it's a good sized group going up next weekend (it's a 3-day holiday). We are staying at the Middle Santa Ynez Campground instead of Mono. You can have the vehicle next to your camp instead of carrying stuff to a site. It's about 3 miles from either hot spring. Same deal: vault toilets, no running water, fire rings, no trash cans (pack it out) and picnic tables.

Can All-Balls help? I did my head bearing on a past bike and was very satisfied. Not sure if they make what you're looking for though.

Anybody ever use one of these mouth mounts? How's the footage come out?

If you're out alone how else you going to get that footage? Chest mount is out of the question. Head mount is ridiculous, and the board mount doesn't have the right angle. what else is there?

    Surfing.

Never used one before so it's all new to me. Might just have to make something custom though.

Doesn't GoPro make a mount that you can attach to your surfboard?

Yeah, but I want something with a higher angle and closer to the body.

I think the opposite, the mouth mount (not sure if serious) is ridiculous. How does that play out when you eat it? Is it also on a leash around your neck so you can relax your jaw?

Also, I would wonder how the mouth mount would affect visibility.

Why is the head mount ridiculous?

It was fun! Not as big or clean as the last swell (at least where I was) but fun non the less! Might go tomorrow as well.

That mouth contraption makes it so the gopro is down by you chin. The head mount doesn't have a leash either and there is no way that thing (at least the one I have. I don't know if there is a more extreme one) would stay on surfing. Either route, a leash would need to be added.

I just saw a guy trying to use one the other day and it seemed like a huge hassle. He was always adjusting it, moving it, and he just looked like a seal mated with a unicorn. He gave me a little chuckle so I was just thinking about other options. To tell you the truth if it had a leash I guess it wouldn't be too bad.

I was just thinking that mouth piece one might be easier if it just had a leash attached somewhere near the neck so it could just hang there when not in use, and when the sets come in you would just bite down and go. Then spit it out and not worry about it. :notsure: just thinking about other options.
