Yep! Hopefully I find a place soon so I can become a member. One of the downsides with living here but not a huge one considering this is my view.

 

Reminder: Come out camping this weekend to some hot springs just behind Santa Barbara. We'll be staying at Middle Santa Ynez Campground with friends, drinks, dirt bikes and activities!

 

Damn I want to go to that. Not sure if I can make my schedule work though. Are you heading out tomorrow?

 

Yes. I'm going up after dinner tomorrow. My brother and other friends will be going up mid-afternoon.

People in IV are just inherently dumb, everyone freaks out over guns any chance they get (even though knives and cars kill more people here..).
My guns never shot anyone. Must be magic

 

I am trying! They are super packed this quarter so they told me I couldn't join to get access to club guns and ammo until fall when I join officially. For right now they said I could go shoot with them if I brought my own guns and ammo which have been at home so I am seeing if I have any good options of storing them up here in order to be able to go on a weekly basis. My dad is bringing them up next weekend though so at least I will get to go then. I'm really hoping I figure out a good plan.

Most people freak out about guns because they have never been around them. I think people should have a basic understanding of how they work because they are way less of a deal than people make them out to be. I've had friends who are hardcore "anybody with a gun is a psychopathic murderer" mindsets go shooting once and their mindsets totally change. The gun is not like a grenade firing in every direction, it doesn't just fire randomly and kill people. They deserve respect yes but they aren't going to get up and attack you unless a crazy is on the other end.

It's a topic of debate but I don't run steel through my guns.

 

That's what I mean. Shawn said go shoot steel and I think that was misunderstood as steel ammo.

Just to stir the pot - I read it the same way Snail dude did.

 

steel has never caused me any issues (I don't buy it but I've put plenty through it) with my AR15. Although, I do have a chrome lined barrel and bolt carrier group.

 

A lot of people say it's a myth. I would try to avoid it just because. Especially if I'm using somebody else's gun.
