went up to fig mountain the other day, trying to find the poppys inv3ctv3 posted.
Drove around forever and couldn't find them, maybe they all died already :notsure:
View was pretty awesome though, and gotta test out the new truck and take some poser shots.

Hey guys. I am trying to decide on my next mod that I will probably put into motion next month. I am between four similar costing mods and can't decide which to do so maybe you guys can help! I hope to do all four eventually and hopefully I will be able to afford them over summer. I'll post example pics of other trucks with each.

First option is a Raptor Style Grille Kit. Like the HomerTaco ones. I've wanted to do this since I got my truck but have gotten sidetracked with other projects and didn't do the research on how to install it until now. This is the least useful and only aesthetic option.
    Example:
    DSC_0415_grande_c4d92a8265e09cad0da1512fd5410a210d82c17c.jpg

Second option is an Avec 30" Optic LED light bar in my lower valence in the front bumper. This is the most expensive option but I have wanted some other off-road lighting and this bar is an awesome price and looks great in my opinion.
    Example: (Stealing Lspriet's pic)
    IMG_1247_4751d4da7a7e4652256d3908daa0e4f092d0f5fb.jpg

Third is a Bullet Proof Fab Skid Plate. As much as I'd love to get a fully armored front bumper, it will be a while until I can afford one/justify buying one as I do not take my truck on any crazy trails. I would still like some protection though and think this skid looks great!
    Example:
    2c8e2e324ced5efe8a13ecfbad97389a_grande_956d02bb16dd78deb3377fec130906c60cbd0fe1.jpg

Last option is Vision X 4.5" LED Cannons for my hood hinge brackets. I installed the brackets from CBI a while back and still have them on but don't have lights for them. These things are seriously cool and throw light really far. I think these are the last thing that I am going to do though as they are not what I am most eager for.
Example: (Not a taco but you get the picture)
    VX-CTL-CPZ110KIT_img4_df6ed824447c3050887de17ed4be28abeb6d031f.jpg

Thanks in advance if you have any input!

I think it depends on what's more important to you right now...Asthetics or Functionality.

Yeah you are right. I'm having trouble deciding because I'm not sure how to rank them. Like on one hand I think the grill looks super slick, but the light bar looks pretty good too and it adds function.

I don't know. I was just seeing if anybody had any of the parts I'm looking at installing and seeing how they liked them.

    Thanks for the feedback!

No worries. I want one of those HomerTaco Satashi grills myself....just have other things I need to be spending money on first(like wheel bearings & axles).

You said you don't wheel hard - skip the skid plate.

If you want lights, you'll get better flood output via the bar. Plus, then you can decide if you even want/need the pods to fill in some trail side light. Ex: my little bumper floods are simply to light up the sides of the trail to expose any rocks or obstacles (not that I'll miss them, but this way I know what I ran in to :D)

Like TheosTaco said, what are you doing with the truck. Get the most bang for your buck.

My real vote is a HAM radio/trail comms. Or a bluetooth stereo headunit. Or a recovery kit. Or a first aid kit. Or navigation. Or...I'll shut up now.

    1. HAM - communications.
Pro - Like a cell phone, reliable, useful in emergencies, 10 cool points for an antenna (and 2" extra travel, right? :D)
Con - expensive, won't use every day

    2. Bluetooth headunit
Pro - upgraded sound, streaming music (no more cords), handless cell, use every day
    Con - not really "bling"

    3. Recovery kit
    Pro - duh
Con - takes space, won't use every day...but the day you do.......

    4. First Aid kit
    Pro - duh
Con - initially expensive, but once you need it....

    5. Navigation
Pro - can be inexpensive like the GAIA app for iPhone (I love mine), cool points , techie
Con - won't use every day, but again...when you do...

Thanks for the input! I've wanted to do the radio a while now as well. I have all redone audio including a Bluetooth HU. That was my very first mod! I also have a first aid kit. I've thought about navigation but that will probably later on my list. I need a recovery kit though.

Thanks for giving me more things I need! Haha I swear this website just shows me where to put each paycheck...

Do a light bar first and shop around, they are dirt cheap nowadays... it makes the biggest difference offroad in the dark and opens up lots of opportunities.
I'd do a cheaper light bar and a skid plate, best of both worlds. The raptor grill is cool but i prefer more go vs more show

Any suggestions on lightbar brands other than avec? I liked the price they gave me compared to rigid for sure.

He was ticketed for uncovered lights. Tucked behind the lower valance you should be fine... his is on the roof over the windshield

Yea, I'm curious what'll happen with that and LED bars. Who is going to make the first cover so people don't get tickets?

My vote is the lightbar :)
And did you take the pods off your hood brackets?

they are pretty much all the same. i can get you in contact with a manufacturer in china so you can get decent pricing, but for the convinience factor i would just go through Amazon. I'm not a big fan of dual row so i went single on my truck and i love it
