Anyone know of a good place to get jerry can carrier made and welded onto my fab fours tire carrier? I live in the Ventura area but will drive for quality and a good price. Or if anyone has had experience with attaching any type of fuel (rotopax etc.) carrier to this tire carrier and would be willing to share it would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get my truck ready for a trip to Alaska and need to figure this out.

Do you guys have to pay a weight fee of around 150 bucks for registration?
I remember there being a fee on my old pick up but i don't remember it being over 100 bucks

Who has a truck for sale in Lompoc/SB? Someone came out of the blue and might buy my truck which could put me back in the market. I see a nice silver one on CL (LT and 4x4)

How would it stack up to a Tundra?
    http://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/4940374063.html

I ask because the original owner of mine (the guy who bought it at the dealer) randomly saw my pic on Instagram and recognized his truck. I may sell it to him if the offer is right so I'm seeing what else is in the area that's available to replace mine. So random!

I like the idea of both. I like the idea of 4 doors for the dog and passengers but the negative to bed rack (takes space away for the moto and gear). The V8 can haul stuff and could potentially accept a light slide in camper one day. Similar size to my 07 access cab with more power. Fuel economy doesn't matter too much. 100,000 less miles on Jake's Tacoma.
Then, of course, a $7k price difference before negotiations.
Does Jake have a build thread?

That is helpful. Bascially, after paying off the private loan I took for the truck, I'd have $9k. So I can either find a lesser/more basic truck and pay cash, or approach the bank once again and see about getting another loan for something else. I don't NEED a caged, long travel truck as I don't really use it that way - I tend to drive long distance to a place with my moto and camp gear with gf and dog. So a quadcab, 4x4, with camper may be a better long term choice. I've been going through trucks about once a year for the past 5-7 years. It's ridiculous since I haven't found the unicorn yet. Something I can mob every once in a blue moon, has passenger capacity for the dog and what not, can haul a slide in camper with a moto on a hitch rack. That's not asking too much, is it?
I've had 2 Jeep XJs, a Jeep WJ, a Ford E-350 on 35's, a 60's Dodge military ambulance, a Mercedes C55 AMG, Mercedes 190E and the Tacoma... then toss in a few motos and call it Vehicular ADD.

Well, I like the silver Taco (does he have a build thread?). I also found a 4Runner that would allow me to pay my loan, pay the truck cash and have a few grand leftover. But I do like having a pickup.

No he doesn't he bought it almost the way it is he just did some cosmetic changes to it. He just ended up not being as into offroading as he thought he would be

it just depends what you want to use it for. sounds like you're leaning towards an expo rig

i like flying around in the whoops and rougher stuff but also need a reliable usable truck. so having links, a stock bed with tailgate that I can fit 2 bikes in, and a v8 is pretty much everything i was trying to do. having 5 seats is a bonus, i have a limited with captains chairs up front so its super roomy

sounds like you use it more to get places to go ride and camp, so you might as well find something 4x4 and relatively stock and just take your time getting out there

i'll probably put a soft topper or shell on my truck at some point, but as it is now it does just about everything I need from it, and it takes a pretty good beating too

That's why I'm very happy with the current Tacoma. I have a soft top in the garage. But I also enjoy mobbing around and being dumb.

What do or did you need done?

I just got off the phone with William @ Coast and he was super nice and informative. Unfortunately, he no longer takes on jobs that pertain to driveline vibrations due to aftermarket lifts.
Has anyone had any experience with Rob @ 4 Wheel Drive & Fabrication in Goleta?
If not, could anyone recommend a place to get the driveline vibes fixed?

I've had nothing but good experiences with Rob. He seems very knowledgeable with offroad trucks.
