hey everyone, v6 trd sr5 manual and what not. at 80mph engines runnin at 3000rpm exactly. This normal? wish it would be more like 1500 for better fuel economy, and seems high....

I'm in the same boat op. Can't have it all! Offroading, speed, acceleration, safety, gas mileage, handling. Pick any 3 hahaha

what if i pick speed acceleration, and gasmileage? lol

but i see where he is coming from, in az if your going 75 or under you will get cars rammed up your ass. especially on the i-10.

but when i drive my truck i try to go 65, but when im in my car i can do 75ish and still egt 31mpg:)

I asked the exact same question last year--YES--thats the speed and rpm.
Thought it was high RPM too--have you checked 100 mph yet-- LOL
I run 80 too--SO WHAT!! PEEPS still pass me.
    My wifes (auto)4cyl camry does 85 @ 3k rpm-
So --for a TRUCK--not too bad.
Depends on what you want--save gas or save time--your choice.

I ride this to work during the week. 0-60 in a shade over 3 seconds, and average 41-43 mpg. Then I drive the Taco on weekends.
Guys, I love my Taco. But at 16-19mpg, there is no way I will use it as my daily driver. Im too tight with money!

Im surprised the 5-speed revs so high. My 4 speed auto is around 2500 at 80. But it does feel a bit gappy as it accelerates thru the gears.

its miserable riding in 110+ weather with 13 UV index... the pavement radiate the heat and its like riding in a furnace. I know AL is hot but not suck the moisture out of your body devils ass crack hot...
