turned a $200 truck into easily a $10,000 truck from the crap I see on craigslist. How much did your pop spend on all the parts and what does he value his time at?

He estimates around 4-5k. And about 1k of that was tires. Its honestly what he'd rather be doing after work anyway so cant really take time into account for cost. He's looking to do another if he can find a truck worthwhile

I mean, if I had the know how and the tools I'd be doing the same thing. I don't think I'll ever run across a running toyota for under $500, though. Damn nice truck man.

He didn't really have a background in restoration this is the first he's completed, also working on a 1971 barracuda.

    Lucky s.o.b. :(
Would love to have that rig. My brother had an '84 that I learned stick on.
That is where my love affair started.

Haha yea I love the early 80's. My pops actually also has a 85 with around 40,000 miles only on it, he hasn't driven it in years. It was his first truck and where the Toyota addiction started

Great restoration! It's amazing what a little love, time, and money will do to an old beat up rig. Looks like you had a great platform to start with, too. Didn't seem to have any bad rust spots or body damage. Love the bed as well. It reminds me of an overseas safari land cruiser.
