Weird, my buddy builds these here in LA, I never knew he worked for Icon. On Saturday he was test driving, as in joyriding, a 4 door version similar to this. The thing was bad ass, he says the customer paid 180, yes 180, thousand dollars to have it built.

Why the hell would you want a Toyota with a GM motor in it?

I'm not trying to sound like a smartass, I'm just asking. It makes no sense to me but for that kind of money I'm hoping there is some reason for it.

That thing is pretty awesome. Not $85 G's awesome to me but then again if you can afford it then $85000 probably isnt a whole lot to you lol. But still an awesome rig for sure.

I guess you could say that. My friend that builds them is a bit of a stoner, and he got wasted while testing out the truck, but he know his shit.

He was telling me to drive it while he was all hammered, I didn't want to take the chance wrecking some dudes brand new very expensive toy.
Not sure how true it is, but he said the buyers have to show proof of more than a million dollar worth to be able to one, makes sense though.

They are definitely sweet vehicles and that price is just about right for something totally custom made like that.

I totally agree about the powerplant though, I'd much rather see something Toyota in there than a Vortech.

These vehicles are basically built up from scratch with new components. The only thing they share with the original FJs is the dataplate, which is apparently enough to make it a "restoration" and exempt from smog testing.
