Can you tell me about your setup? Ive heard about sealing issues with the plate that goes from the manifold to the Weber carb. Have you had any issues? Do you run a manual choke? I was thinking about going that route for simplicity. Did you have any issues with tuning? Here is the kit in question.

Truck looks to have 4” suspension and 3” body lift on it.
Lift kit is a Trailmaster and it is kind of a pile. Bad part is it is a bit of a challenge to go back to stock. You will have to track down new spindles and (IIRC) steering arms.
Would also have to fabricate some of the front diff mount as it gets cut to install that kit.
It does take all OEM balljoints and tie rod ends though.
If you lose the bodylift and relax the torsions a bit, 33s look good on it.

My garbage has the same kit on it.

IMO - Manual chokes are a pain in the butt on anything but a tractor or OPE.

I don't run a manual choke and haven't had any issues with the mounting plate. The only issue I've had is a weeping accelerator pump manifold. The replacement was about $15 and 10 minutes to swap. Tuning is fine, my truck runs good and typically starts up on the second key turn with a couple gas pedal pumps after its been sitting (I only drive it every other week). Once it's been driven it due right up. Hope that helps!

Seems like it’s going to be a pain regardless of what route I go with. I need to take a better look underneath and see how much of it is salvageable.

Okay good to know. I ended up going the electric choke route.

I spoke to someone at LCE performance and he recommended an adapter specific to the 22r engines. Didn’t sound like it was necessary but he recommended that and a fuel pressure regulator as well. From the few videos I’ve seen, the install looks pretty straight forward. How difficult was it to tune it?

I thought about getting a fuel regulator. I don't have one. Tune is a little pain in the dick. I still have my gas cap cracked open a bit to help. The regulator would probably help with that too lol

Weber carb came in and I was able to start the install. I removed the old carb, installed the EGR block off plate and secured the Weber carb on the manifold. I thought it was going to be a plug and play but I need to get a few fittings/hoses sometime this week. I also need to find a good spot to mount the fuel pressure regulator and gauge. I'm having a hard time with all of the emissions/vacuum lines. From what I understand, I need to run both vacuum lines from the distributor back to the carb. Which one goes where??

As for the rest of the emissions/vacuum lines, do they just get capped/removed from the vehicle. Most pictures I've seen are similar but have slight variations that make me unsure of what to keep and what to discard. Ill get some better pictures tomorrow, but here is what I'm working with right now.

Thanks, That helped out quite a bit!

I need to clean up the engine bay and remove a few more items.
Capped a few vacuum ports and installed the Fuel pressure regulator as well as the gauge. If I’m missing any steps or I can remove anything else let me know. I don’t think I can take off too much more without needing block off plates but I could be wrong.

I also need to find somewhere to tap into for the electric choke.

Did you ever remove/check the egr valve?

Also, FYI, you can use the chainlink button above to shorten hyperlinks.

Luckily not a hard job, but with 30,000 miles I can’t imagine it being clogged. I replaced my EGR valve in my truck at 340,000 and it was definitely clogged:D

I may eventually go this route. I definitely don't have the time or space to tackle that big of a project right now. I'm leaving it with family for a bit and want to leave it drivable.

I ended up removing it and installing the block off plates provided in the kit. I tore the original gasket that runs behind the manifold and forgot to add gasket maker so I have to take it off and add some now.

I’ll take a couple pictures today if I get a chance. Not really sure what to inspect for on that.

I haven’t thrown anything out yet. I’ve been piling everything on the passenger side because I have my seat removed.
