I have a 2000 prerunner v6 ext cab 2wd.... No weight up front.... Want a 1.5-2in lift with a nice ride quality.... What should I do? I already have 5100 Billy's up front, but want to set them at "0" with a lift coil

with no weight up front, 882s are going to be too tall. You'll run into issues with the CV boots and most likely coil contact with the UCAs at full droop.

Yup. Coils are 620#. It needs weight up front to mellow it out some.

881s with no weight up front. i ran those coils for a few years before going with 882s to counteract the sag from a tube bumper and winch.

Being a prerunner, 881s. As mentioned already, 882s will be more lift than you want and probably more than your cv's can handle

right on... yeah I have a napa brand stock coil that I bought to throw on the 5100's set at 1.25".... horrible choice... I compressed a brand new coil which is a no no.... I would love to go full OME set up but I already have the 5100 struts... I just want the front end to be 1.5-2in with the 5100's set at "0" and HOPE its not a rough ride....

Oops. Overlooked the prerunner part. Still most likely going to run into trouble with the coils contacting the stock UCAs on any amount of droop. They really are meant for carrying a winch bumper.

Like said, 881s unless you plan on putting a lot of weight on the front end. I'll be putting my 881's on my 2004 4x4 Taco hopefully this weekend, will report back with some pics.

Keep us posted. Planning on running 882's on my 04 4x4 for a few months before getting an ARB bumper and winch. Wonder if the diff drop will save my CV's for those months

Will do. Hoping I can find the time this Sunday but I may have to put it off for another week, we'll see.

I almost got the diff drop with my kit but from what I've been told, it's not really necessary if you're staying under 3". I think the 882s will give you 3" though so it may be worth it for the peace of mind.

i wouldn't sweat the diff drop, personally. the way it pivots the front diff down, you'd have to put a pretty serious drop on to get any real change to the actual CV angle due to how far out the front mounts for the diff are located.

I also read somewhere on here that some think the diff drop is too dangerous because it makes the differential more susceptible to trail damage. Replacing a torn boot is a lot cheaper than having to open up and fix your diff if it takes a hard beating on a rock.
