Hey guys. I've searched and searched and looking for a definitive answer. I've got an 03 DC TRD 4x4. Currently with 5100s and 881s. Wasn't going o put a bumper on it. Now I am. Have an ARB and a 9500 smitty winch with synthetic line. I need to re spring. From what I can tell and am being told 883s are the way to go. I've seen mixed opinions on running the 883s on 5100s. What's the answer. I'd like to not have to by another set of struts. Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah I'd also like to know the answer to this one, I am in desperate need of an upgrade from my stock suspension now that I have a bumper and winch, and 5100 with 883s has been what Ive been looking into.

We have put many 883's on 5100's. I have only seen one clip failure on a guy who liked to jump his truck.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. I don't plan on doing any jumping haha! Looks like 883's are the way to go then. Should net me the same height after the bumper and winch or maybe a 1/2 inch higher. Wouldn't be mad about that.

I ran 883's with 5100's and a ARB front bumper with no winch and I was at about 2 inches of lift on my 03. I had no problems running them together for years but I found the ride to be rough. No noises at all, just too stiff of a ride for me.

I run 883's on 5100's with an ARB no winch. Settled at about 2-2.5 inches of lift. I don't find the ride to be rough. Has a good amount of travel. Long as you're running the springs with the 5100's on the lowest setting I find it to be a good ride. Maybe just a touch stiff. Don't forget the top plate spacer on the driver's side so you don't have mad lean.

Well sounds like I should be alright and sit about the same. I'd say I'm about 2 inches? Over stock. I didn't measure before but that about how I'm guessing. It's sagged about 1/2 inch or so. Rides great right now, will be getting roof rack and some sliders next.

I have been running 883s and 5100 set on zero, with an ARB- winch sometime in the future, Not excessively rough at all, depends on tires etc...
