I figured I'd start a build thread since I'm starting to get mod fever again

My very first mod, installed Dec 2008:

slimcubby 4300K HIDs (I didn't have the satoshi grill at that time). Very much recommended for all owners. I've installed HID's on every car I've owned, so this was a must for me. Will get up some nighttime shots shortly.

    Pioneer AVIC Z3:

I really wanted to go with a CarPC setup, but I didn't want my radio to become a science fair project. When I'm in the car, I don't want to deal with the hassles of a computer. My unit is actually a Z2 with an upgraded 60gb hard drive with Z3 software. The hardware between all the Z series head units is exactly the same.

The navigation portion of it is absolutely great. The multimedia side I am a little dissapointed with to be honest. You can only rip music to the HDD from an audio CD. It will play MP3/WMA (who uses WMA?!) froma CD/DVD, but it will not rip them to the hard disk. This is extremely cumbersome, because all of my music (nearly 100gb) is on my computer. I am slowly but surely getting it transferred, but I just hate wasting media. The unit is also very finnicky with CD-RW's, but that may be a problem with my computer.

    TRD Bilstein shocks:

I fought and fought to get the rear suspension TSB installed while my truck was under warranty, even escalated the issues to Toyota corporate but got shot down time after time. These had <40 miles on them and I picked them up for $100 shipped and installed them myself. Not a bad deal!

    Satoshi grill:

I purchased a radiant red satoshi grill made by VinceXR. Not much to say here, as the pictures say it all. The build quality on this is superb! Paint matches perfect and the fiberglassed area is smooth and properly painted. This looks like a mass produced product, but I can almost guarantee myself I'll never see another truck on the road with one!

I painted the top part of the radiator black with high temp spray paint. I also relocated the horns up under the hood. They make a strange sound now and are incredibly loud in the cab, but I don't really mind. I may replace the OEM horns with some Hella's down the road, but we'll see.

    6/6/09 - BHLM

This mod was a bit more work than I was anticipating. In a conquest to dechrome my entire truck (alot of work on a non-sport) I decided to perform the BHLM. This of course involves removing and baking the headlights, disassembling the innards, painting the interior valence, and putting it all back together. I was happy with the results, but if I were to do it again, I would take my time and sand the portions to be painted. If you don't, the paint will chip when you put the headlights back together.

No leaks yet, but there seems to be a film on the inside of lens. Most likely from the paint curing.

Oh, if they still made them in Rad Red, I would have been all over it. Barcelona red just wasn't doin it for me.

Been too long since I've updated this...

since the last time I was in here, i've added Image Dynamics CT65's and CTX65's (reinstalled the AVN-726E from my old taco), 20% tint with 50% over the stock rear tint for a perfect match, 17x9 procomp 7005 wheels, 275/65/17 BFGoodrich AT KO tires, and sockmoney lower valence vinyl.

TODO: GET MY SATOSHI REPAINTED!!!!!, Icon coilovers, UCA's, rear AAL's, projector retrofit, amp and subs, etc etc etc
