Do nothing until (all) vehicle data is released, new vehicle test driven, new vehicles inspected inside and out, vehicle color on lot, viewed inside and out, etc. Add to that respective buyers want to know up front what -

    New vehicle cost
    MPG - city/highway
    0 to 60 time
    Full dimensions
    Cost of upgrades
    Cost of accessories
    Warranty specs.
    etc.

You all can place your (artificial) pre-orders but you're playing the game "Blind", since you have no idea exactly what the heck you're getting. Talking heads/videos have not addressed how the 2024 Tacoma handles on pavement or off road, even less how it compares to competition. No one knows trim price structure, much less the actually dates 2024 Tacoma's will show up in dealerships this year or next. At this point it's all a guessing game. Which some people obviously like.

Have to Laugh at those claiming they have their pre-order in or want to get in on some early bird delivery list, since its really going to be a year off before anyone can drive upper grade trims or Tacoma with hybrid motor. Wake me up around December this year and then I'll see if I can finally kick the tires on some new 2024 Tacoma.

Boy your way off base Talking Taco -

first you claim I posted “this better start at $29,000 or it’s dead on arrival” - Total Hogwash son. I said the base 2024 Tacoma will start at $30,000 which is exactly what Toyota is aiming for. Nice try twisting my words. I also said $30,000 plus.

Then it was “the hybrid better get 35mpg or it’s dead on arrival”. Nothing "dead on arrival" except your posts. Toyota hybrid hopefully will produce good mileage numbers. Now I'm thinking more 26 MPG to 30.

Then you claim some pre-order lists are years long. OMG - Talking Taco is is one of those posters who pumps 10K to 20k mark up over sticker. One has to wonder now if he/she works for Toyota???

Everyone here who said the work for Toyota, or is an insider, or knows someone who works at Toyota, have yet to be correct about product intro's or other details. The best source seems to be Toyota.com and it's social accounts. Funny how that works.

Didn't he say that there would be no manual transmission in the 4th gen?

I’m actually not sure about that one. He was spot on regarding the drivetrain though.

The whole 4th Gen forum are largely AI generated. Have you seen some of the threads?

I'm going to have to give my head a shake or slam it against a wall because I keep coming back every day hoping things will improve.

It's somewhat sad when a poster like Talking Taco throws complete logic out the window and just says go to your friendly Toyota dealer and pay 20K over sticker price when buying a Tacoma. I mean this Bozo doesn't even know final pricing for 2024 Tacoma's on any trim level, yet he swears buyers have lined up years in advance to buy sight unseen. Yea, I'll buy that hair cream that prevents baldness sight unseen.

I have no problem if someone wants to pump a new vehicle (ICE or EV) that's coming out in near future, but in life - you do your homework before you lay down $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 plus on a new vehicle that hasn't been reviewed by anyone as far as driving performance, road handling, miles per gallon, cabin road noise, acceleration, etc. You Do Your Homework, versus following some here that say "Buy first and ask questions later".

Like I said in my original post, you wait for Toyota to come out and assign a sticker price for a specific 2024 trim level your interested in. Then you wait until you can test drive, since everyone knows buying sight unseen is fools play. Oh sorry - Talking Taco thinks buying sight unseen and paying 20K over stick is just fine. Then after you test drive, if your seriously interested in purchasing a Tacoma, you go online and ask various dealers within 50 to 100 miles from where you live, what's the best price they can give or just say you're willing to buy at sticker price and ready to drop off a deposit check at dealership.

Remember, after a home purchase probably the next most expensive thing you ever buy is a new vehicle. So do your homework, be patient and ignore Talking Taco - since he obviously sides with car manufacturers and over paying through the nose. Enough Said.
