For those of you who do your own brake jobs...Is it necessary to buy new caliper bolts when doing a front brake job? I started a thread a while back and someone seemed to suggest it was important. I didn't buy any, just bought rotors and pads.

I would like to stay with the original Sutton idea if infact there is some good trails to take up the day, if it is just going to be an up one road and back then I would rather skip it. Just my .02.

That's kinda where I'm at too, I've only been up there in the summer time and I've not been to Jim creek in the winter, I want to go where the most trails are that we can all enjoy ya know?

I have not been to either in the winter. I've been to Jims in early spring though. Personally, I would not drive my truck to Jims no matter what time of year it is. I just don't like that silt. Sutton has a ton of trails, I just don't know how accessible they are in the winter. I went up one last summer that was pretty cool. It was a 4 wheeler trail but I made it up a long ways until there was a big patch of mud. Stopped there because all I had with me was a friend in a subaru lol. I'd think if the snow wasn't too deep that trail would be good in the winter too.

You dont need new caliper bolts just do the rotors and pads like normal and call it a day. Clean the bolts off with some brakleen if theyre rusted or something but thats it.

 That's what I thought. They didn't look too rusted when I was under the truck a few days ago. I didn't want to spend 20 bucks on bolts I didn't need, lol.

 I wish haha. I have a method to my madness, I swear. From now on I'm not spending a dime on my truck unless it's towards a lift or needed maintenance. Oh, and gas too. It sure likes that stuff.

Jim creek is a blast in the winter I've been there twice in the winter but the only thing that worries me is falling through the ice at the water crossings
