Hey guys, I'm coming up on 90k and thinking about doing some regular maintenance. My fiance said go to dealership, I said screw that noise.

I recently changed my oil, cabin filter, topped off fluids and got new brakes.. so now I'm wondering what they'd do for 90k service.

Spark plugs, sensors, check this n check that burn money doing nothing.

I have a really good local Toyota Lexus shop I might take it to... Or slowly do stuff myself. Thoughts?

Honestly I'd slowly do stuff myself. If you're not terribly mechanically inclined there's write-ups in the second gen section on just about everything. Might be a good way to learn something new. Personally I find working on my own vehicle to be immensely satisfying. Also money not wasted at the stealership is money saved that can be spent on mods later.

If you've had the truck the entire 90,000 miles and haven't done any maintenance you're ready to have some stuff done.

Spark plugs, differential fluids (front, rear and transfer case), check serpentine belt for wear/cracks, replace coolant...all easy DIY procedures that you'll save a lot of money by doing yourself. I'm sure others will chime in with more suggestions.

There's tons of 'how to' info on here if your so inclined. Good luck...

I got it with about 30k miles on it. The dealership did some 30k maintenance when I bought it, and I've upkept little things and routine 4000 mile oil changes with full syth..

But yeah. Probably need to check some belts n top off fluids. Spark plugs are easy n cheap.. what about differential fluids. That easy for me to do also? I'd rather not take it anywhere. But I don't want to be down and out for more than 4-5 hours at a time, at most. Figure it's all not too bad

Spend time reading. On here, in your manual, how to section.

I did a lot to my truck when i bought it at 216k KM. Fluids are key to long lasting major components, ie trans, diffs, radiator, engine.

Most other items I replace as they need it. For example if the idler pulleys and belt looks fine and isn't squealing I leave it, spark plugs can be replaced easily, but if you don't you're not doing any serious harm to your truck.

    None YET!!!
I'm in the same boat. Most everything is not a problem for me but the trans fluid change I'm wondering if dealership will pump out all fluid and do a more thorough job? Of course they like to do things you don't ask for , at least mine seems to.
