I got to get everything for the rear shocks first. I want to get the shock relocate and spring hangers first. So that way when I mount the shocks the hangers will be installed and I can utilize all 12in of travel

I bet. I’ve hit mine so many times. I might just figure out a way to cut the hitch off. With my spring under there is no chance I can use a heavier than stock bumper.

True. How did those different shackles help out?

I ended up putting the stock ones back. The shorter length messed up my pinion angle and I read the longer ones perform better. So I put them back on. Then called up deaver and had them make me an add a leaf. The springs are probably at their weight limit now even with the add a leaf.

Is it SUA in general that reduce capacity or just your deavers that are having trouble?

Have you tried burying some of the bodies instead of just carrying them around all the time?

I don’t know. The place I got them from said they do better with a bunch of weight. Told him what I carry extra, he said they’d work fine. Maybe one day if I get a bumper I can try replacing my springs.

As for the bodies, gotta leave ‘em back there. It keeps the California criminals away. ;)

Damn that's nuts. Are you still running the hitch? I'm sure with the stock bumper and hitch off the weight difference won't be much. Unless you go high clearance.

I’d love to go high clearance but can’t yet because of the bedsides.

I’m really thinking of selling my bed cage and rear shocks then just putting some extended ones like you are doing. I’m so sick of pretty much zero bedspace.

Then 35’s. Thinner bedsides. And I’m eying that hondo garage rack/tent thing. But all of the bed stuff will have to go first. That would be nice because then the dogs could sleep in the bed.

Have you checked out archive? You can run 14s so that way you can still get some good travel. I was talking to @Coot83 about custom hc that bows out with the bedside. I think that would be pretty cool

I def would be interested in seeing what sort of ideas could come to light.

Haha. I hate the way my truck looks and it’s pretyy much useless outside of street driving. I’ve even contemplated selling it. But that’s t huge waste of money.

I’ll take a look and see. I could always get a different bedcage that leaves more bed space.

Between my bedcage and tire I’ve got a two foot bed. Enough for my fridge and a cooler.

Well damn I thought you atleast liked the look and that you got the rear to feel good atleast? I would figure yours would be crazy capable for off-road, why do you say for only street driving?

After doing some reading it seems like sua just isn’t meant for weight. My truck is pretty heavy so probably not the best combo. In fact they are starting to sag a little and they don’t have too many miles.

Nope. I’ve never liked the look of my truck. The rear looks stupid. Tires made it a little better.

Off road. The tires are too big and my capacity for camping isn’t much with no bed space. I’d love a rear carrier but no garage space and no chance my springs would hold it up. My front bump stop set up sucks too.

Like I’ve said before, if I could go back to a set up like @90yota has I would. Much more useable.

That's unfortunate. I guess it's more a dedicated LT build now. I'm sure as long as you tubbed out the wells it would be better. But as far as a expo build goes it's just not the right setup.

Or I could link the rear and would be fine with the extra weight :drevil:

Hmm. It’s just two arms, a track bar, and some coilovers. No biggie.

Well damn that sucks...I guess you could see about trying to adjust your bedcage a little and see if you can gain some more space? Would you have went with a different SUA kit if you knew how Giant would have been from the get go? I know another guy had similar issues with Giant with the set up...Im hoping with my DMZ kit that it lives up to the hype although I hear its the most sound one on the market.
