91 on the 2.7?

    2.7 on 91 gas what do you think? bad? I did it recently and on a 90 mile drive back it smelled like gas in the car once in a while.Its a 2011 prerunner acess cab btw. Thanks guys

    4.56 gears, rear trutrac,DT header, 235/85r16 Duratracs, 2nd filter pulled, inter.wipers, Cruise control, Factory alum. whls/winter tires(2nd set), Afe pro Dry-S , Dumbo eared flaps cut down.
    No point in it . I'd suspect another problem, if you smell fuel in the cab, anything from a car in front of you, to a leak in yours.
    Fwiw , ive never smelled gas in mine on 87 ,or 89 when i ran it occasionally.

    Do you notice a difference between the 87 and 89 use?, mpg, power,etc?

    I didnt think I would, but it seemed to run smoother , otherwise no difference in power or mpg that i could tell.

    LEER Shell with dome lights operated with 3 way switches, aux backup lights with relay and 3 position switch, modified wiring to compass/temp display and clock to include switch that disables dimming function (poor man's DRL solution), Scan Gauge 2
    I wouldn't, the 2.7 is designed to run on 87. Anything else would be a waste. The 4.0 is designed to run best on 91 and I do notice a difference in throttle response and MPG over the 87 on mine.

    X2 on there being something else making the smell.
