Thanks! It was a great trip! I've always wanted to go from the southern part all the way up to the north in one trip. Thanks for coming down!

Yeah...it's tough to photograph the steepness and the size of the moguls. I think I have some other photos from my last trip there that might come close, but probably not.

    Thanks!

Thanks, for sure, man! We were originally potentially going to have 3-4 trucks along and we didn't want to have more than that, but next time!
And I'd go out there again if you wanted to plan a trip, just let me know!

Also, here's a screenshot of the trail overview:

And when we finished at Coyote Canyon and were airing up I checked my air filter and the freaking gasket started coming off. It was like the glue that held it on failed or something and then the engine heat warped the gasket itself so it was too big to fit right...I'll be talking to K&N about that, but for the mean time I just replaced it with a standard paper filter and I'm thinking I'll just switch back to that. We'll see.

I think I'll be able to do that! Where do you have in mind? Since it's just 2 nights, 2 days really I don't really want to travel too far.

Build-related: After swapping the air filters the good ol' butt-dyno is less than impressed. The high-end rev torque was sorely lacking, but the acceleration through the revs was actually much smoother and nicer. We'll see where the mpg's end up.

Looks like your rack is still bent from hollister.

Ended up talking to K&N today about the gasket failure on my air filter that I discovered in Anza. They were super easy and are sending a replacement gasket free of charge, should get here tomorrow!
Since it was so easy I just went ahead and cleaned it today, too. I'll probably drive a couple tanks on the paper filter to see if there's an mpg difference between the two filters, but I'm most likely going to put the K&N back in because it does seem to make a power difference.

I looked into a ton of different types of lockers a few years ago but the chirping and clunks of non-selectables turned me off of them because of all the street driving I do. So I was pretty set on an arb rear locker even before the group buy came up.
For now, I've mostly been limited trail-wise by not having a rear locker, not a front. We'll see how it goes with the rear. I may end up getting a front but that'll be way later down the line.

    10-4..

I didn't find the chirping so bad in my friends truck. But he said it takes awhile to get used to driving it so that it won't chirp all the time.

Either way I'm sure it'll be sweet.. I need a locker in the worst way.

That's about what I heard from reading online about them.
    I'm excited!
Not sure about your trails but here I've only ever felt the need for one in the rear, and if you're down with the spartan, well they're not too too expensive, so dooo iiiiiit!

    Thanks! I'm stoked!

Newest addition to the truck (pardon the cell-phone picture...and the dust...)

Not permanently mounted yet, but I think that's the spot. I'll drive around with it there for a while to see if it's inconvenient for grabbing stuff out of the little pen holder under the radio or if it doesn't work well with 5th gear, but so far it seems okay there and kinda funky anywhere else.
But ohhhh myyyy the volume! Thanks Pliny for telling me about it!

Yeah I'm going to put a spartan in the front and rear soon.

Almost all of my riding consists of offroad parks.. Alabama just doesn't have the wide open expanses of wilderness to explore like y'all have out west. It's impossible to even get lost where I live, but the offroad parks are abundant and fun.

Nice, well I can't wait to see how it works out for you!

Aw that's too bad! I've always had more fun exploring around on long trails. Seems like you're making the most of what you got, though, which is what counts!
Did I see you talking about heading out to moab this coming year somewhere online?
