I live in a small apartment with a small set of tools and no garage space of any kind haha

I can wait until this summer and go to South Dakota and use my tools that I have stored there I suppose. But then I have to decide if I want to bedline them myself or what.

I live like 45min from a sand blasting and i think powder coater too.

I just assumed you'd have one near you :notsure:

I also assume something like acid dipping or sand blasting is all that will remove the powder since it is supposed to be bonded to the metal. :(

Would you take them off? Mine need to be repainted, too, from scratches and gouges from use against rocks and because they weren't painted that well in the first place, either. It'd be difficult to get in to the places that need rust cleaning without taking mine off, but I think taking them off would be worse and more expensive.

    Shit.

Well....i'd scuff all the rust off and try something like rihno lining or an equivalent. :/

I figured. Can you sand blast with them still attached? I feel like that would be really tough to do. Maybe a wire brush attachment on an angle grinder?

Yeaaahhh....that's probably what I'm going to do with mine when I get back to my parent's place with the garage and angle grinder. Not sure what other method to do, though...

Thanks, man. Hoping to get some more work done this Summer now that I've got a little more free time.

I've been putting all my free time into personal studies and photography ha haven't done a thing to the truck but fill it up once in a while.

I have a shortlist for the Summer of little things I want to get done but nothing major.

Motorcycle needs to get up and running for the Summer again as well. That'll take my attention for a bit ha

Plus my kid brother wants me to build him a tree house so we'll be doing that everyday we can as well..

    Summers are always too short.

Sounds packed with well spent time!

I swear its crazy talking to guys around your age and hearing them talk about "kid brothers." For years...i've been that kid brother, now he's doing his thing and i'm in college. Shits crazy man. Cherish the big brother time, it means more than you may realize :)

All good to hear. I see you are defintely a stand up guy man.

I hate carbs too. The cb750s i worked on, i couldn't stand fumbling with the carbs, i had them rebuilt for $100 a set. I just don't have the patience to clean, tune up and sync four carbs all at once :(
