Still deciding how I want to mount the Vacuum gauge and if I want to get a Tach while I'm at it or not.

I got it for a reason haha just little things here and there, but that's what winter is for; fixing the little things.

I don't run an antenna anymore. Anyone know if they make a plug of some sort for that hole to keep the grit out? I might just cram something in there to keep it somewhat clean.

Looks like a cool trip! What are you guys doing for sleeping in the bed?

My girlfriend and I use an inflatable twin mattress that fits perfectly between the wheel wells and goes the entire length of the bed. It's got a kinda low weight rating that we exceed so it slowly leaks, which is annoying, but we found that if we leave the tailgate down it holds air better because it's not being squished. But since it's exposed with the tailgate down I took an old cheap tent and cut a hole in the bottom to go over the entire back end so that we could keep the bugs out. We haven't camped with that yet, but it seems like it'll work pretty well as long as the wind isn't too bad.

I'll be building a sleep platform the height of the wheel wells with a big drawer at the tailgate and hinges that allow me to flip open the front half to more storage. Then we will most likely bust out the camping pads OR find a real matress to put in there. We slept on a real matress back there on our last camping trip before the snow flew and we were much more comfortable and warm. I'm going to keep my eyes out for a cheap/thin one for sale near our college that I could roll up when not in use.

    Vic Prep:
Fix topper window screen seal and latch
Seal tailgate up best as I can
    e. fan
    synth diff fluid
    install my vacuum gauge
seat cover and Seriously Comfy Pad of some sort. (Back keeps getting worse and worse)
    Finish window banner tint
    etc. . .

I'm going to bring the tbars down a 1/4" sometime if I can also.

I'm good on supplies (water/fuel jugs, compass, maps, First aid kit, jet boil, water filter, charcoal, magnesium, etc . . .

Just need to decide how much money I need to set aside for this.

I want to take a trip out of the country this summer as well so I'm going to need to start budgeting now!

Memory foam 4" mattress topper from costco (Novaform) works perfect, and it squishes up small with a vacuum bag.

Thanks man. I didn't know they make it that thick. When the inlaws come stay at my place I let them have the main bedroom and fold my queen size mattress pad in half to make a bed. Sometimes I sleep there a few more days after they leave haha it's very comfy.

I don't live near a Costco but I will keep my eyes peeled for the equivalent. (Or buy two thin ones and stack em). Good call

    Front has torsion bars.

Rear has leaf springs. I plan on replacing the entire leaf packs but couldn't justify it when I got the truck because it's in really good shape and the leafs aren't sagging all that much. So I temporarily stuffed a couple Jeep coils between my bumpstops to hold the butt-end up when I carry heavier loads.

Giving the Air Filter to my friends who just got pregnant as a gift.
Have some TRD OR shocks FS.

    The "truck parts account" just got a bump . . . :D
If the weather clears up I can hopefully start to take on my short term To Do List.

Time to get the 'ol E-brake fixed.
I pulled into my parking spot, pulled the e-brake (must have forgotten to put it in gear somehow) got out, locked the door and shut it, and what do ya now, my now locked truck began rolling backwards towards the dumpster. So I shuffled, with my giant gloves on, for my keys, and tried to get the key in the key slot, in the dark, all whilst side shuffling across the parking lot under the stress of my truck getting closer and closer to hitting the dumpster. Needless to say, I got in, hit the brakes, and parked it properly. :)
In retrospect, if I had let it hit the dumpster I would have had an excuse to fab up a new one . . .

Dang, haha yeah I noticed your "feully" thing in your sig was like 21 something before and now it's 20.6
It amazes me how efficient these old trucks are and how similar they are to modern small trucks.

21.9 to 20.9 and it'll keep dropping until spring ha

The 2.7 is more FE I'm pretty sure. If this one ever died on me, which isn't likely, I'd probably do a 2.7 swap.

    Sliders and Retrofits almost done!
