I have 93 automatic 22re 4 cyl, can I replace with the engine from a 94 engine 22re that has a standard transmision? My concern being the computer and how it is programed to run with the different transmissions.

as long as you keep the engine harness and ECU from your vehicle, it should be OK,

There are three wires going back to the tranny and exhaust, on the auto and I only see two on the standard. I haven't traced all the wires yet.

what is your truck- auto or stick?

Are you planing on keeping the original trans setup?

that will help give you some answers. my point is use the harness and ECU from the truck you have. IOW, swap it onto the new engine. then you should not have to worry about different wires.

Thank you I understand what your talking about. My original transmission is automatic, and I am keeping it. I know now I have to take the wiring harness from my old motor and install it on the new motor. I will also have to use the ECU from the old engine. Will this be a problem, reusing the ECU that was installed for the engine hooked to the automatic and not the one that came with motor that was on the standard transmission?
