I’m new to this group. I just replaced the tranny fluid in my 95 3.4 4x4 with a manual transmission. I replaced it with the recommended 2.3 quarts. And ever got the level to come out the fill port. I could not get my finger in to feel the level. Is it ok to go ahead and add more till it runs out. Or should I just let it ride like it is. My only thing is with out fill it to the fill port what’s the best way to check the level without having it on the verge of running out? I appreciate any help!

As long as oil starts dripping out the fill hole it’s full.

That’s what I thought. It just seam to be quite a bit above the manufacturer capicity.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Yep, I've always filled gearboxes until it comes out of the fill hole too. Then you know for sure! Rather have a little extra than too little and be sitting on the side of the highway with a blown transmission/diff/t-case or whatever.

I agree 100%. That’s the way I service all my other vehicles. But never seen any of them be so far off the manufactured suggested capacity.

Dumb question, is the truck parked on a level surface?

Either way I'd fill it up to the hole

Yes it’s parked in the garage. Ok thanks. I’ll fill it up to the fill port. Thanks
