I have a 1995 Tacoma 3.4l V6. I just had the entire AC system replaced and charged by a certified mechanic. When it’s working it works well and blows cold. However, it randomly decides when and when not to stay cold. Usually if I start my truck with the AC on it’ll stay cold but if I turn the AC on once it’s already running it won’t get cold. I’m not very educated on the AC systems in these trucks. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like it wasn't charged correctly or perhaps your aux fan is not firing up.

A lot of times that means it didnt get evacuated correctly...
if its not electronic related......my guess is air in the system....
    it happens...

It would cost me 2 cans from wally world to test that theory......$20....

makes you wonder if they got the oil right.....too much or too little might do the same....but just guessing...a reach....

simplest thing is go check all the wiring connections first....before anything else..
always assume the simplest...easiest to fix first...

Do they have a dye that can be put in the freon???

If so that's what I'd do after eliminating everything else and attempting to recharge...
    wouldnt just blindly recharge it....

Is your recirculation setting turned on in both instances?

Without a set of gauges to see whats going on in the system we're all just guessing. I recommend taking it back to your guy to look at it
