Hey everyone, later this week I'm going to change the clutch on my 95 tacoma 4x4.. I just picked up this truck and since its been living its entire life in New England where salt is not a stranger to the truck, the whole frame is pretty much rusted out. Rusted out I mean the strut ripped right off the frame lol. Anyways, the truck needs a new clutch badly and this is my first time doing a clutch on a tacoma and it being 4x4. I know I have to drop the drive shaft and unbolt other parts, but do you think that since the frame is rusted the hell out I might have a hard time taking the bell housing off? Like will I come to a dead end because of seized bolts or broken bolts from it being rusty? I'm not really 100% sure on how to take the transmission off but just wanted to know if anyone knows if I will end up fixing more problems just because I have to take out the tranny from a really bad rusted frame. I am mechanically inclined and done Hondas my entire life, so this shouldnt be to hard since the tranny isn't up front.

Its a big job... I did it in a day on a rack and I don't know if I could do it any other way. The hardest part was wrestling the bell housing off the block. The guide pins had a little bit of dissimilar metal corrosion on them which made it a real chore to separate. I did not bother to remove the transfer case from the transmission but the transmission jack made lifting it a piece of cake.

Since you have rust I would soak everything you can in PB Blaster for about a week before the job. The rust is concerning though.. if its as bad as you say it is, then I would spend some time to thoroughly inspect the frame to make sure its even safe to drive
