    Just in time?
Come on where's the pic of the other guy? I bet you murderized the other car.

Really though, I'm hoping all is OK, especially people-wise. Looks like it wasn't too bad?

Oh man, well, congrats to 99taco for winning a free damn bumper! And bummer to supremetaco for getting tagged... Doesn't look to bad though - just a few valence pieces and a headlight housing, hopefully. Any scary damage behind the bumper, like radiator or whatnot?

man i cant believe it. I was heading west to school this morning in the far right lane. There are 3 lanes going westbound. I was going the speed limit as posted (25). Traffic in the 2 lanes on the left of me were stopped at the intersection (they were stopped cuz they if they went they would block the intersection) I had no traffic in front of me in my lane. The lady was heading east and was partially turning and made a sudden left in front of me at the last minute. i was like WTF i hate when people creep and then they think its clear and go. that just pissed me off even more, BUT im thankful that she wasnt hurt. she had minor scratches on her arm, she was shaking and traumatized. she had a scion xb or something or nissan cube? her whole right side of the engine compartment was smashed. Cop said it might have to be totalled. Sorry I took this picture at home, didnt have a camera with me at the time. stupid me. but got it reported and all. the damage done to my truck was that the bumper was smashed in a bit so that its pointing up at an angle, radiator fluid leaking, and the lights as you can see were smashed in. i was able to drive it home. i noticed that when i stopped my idle was going up and down and the truck was vibrating a lot. The engine just died as i made it home... idk what else to check for, Tim idk man i think ill have someone take care of the bumper its such a pita for shipping back and forth. I will make sure they can fix it.

:frusty: I hate those intersections. I block them unless there's a sign warning against it for exactly the situation you talk about. I also hate the people that creep, figure they can't get through, and park it while your light turns green.

Since it was leaking radiator, first you might do a compression check to make sure engine hasn't seized. Pull a plug out, stuff in a rag, crank the key breifly. If rag flies out, you have compression. It doesn't mean you are in the clear but it is a good test that gives you something to check. Have it towed to whereever it's going to be serviced, no need to risk overheating.

Try to get the big stuff taken care of by insurance. Keep the receipt for your bumper or get Tim to send you a quote for replacement, insurance might cover it. Might then be able to sell the current one to someone who wants to hammer on it.
Jump on your regional forum for some help, I'm sure guys will come to your rescue.

This sounds pretty good but just so you know, a compression test will not tell you if the engine is seized, the fact that it turns over will tell you it's not. Also If you do decide to do a compression test, do it right and get a gauge.

Now that I think about it, I'm talking about two different subjects, yes. compression, seized engine are different  The only thing I know for seized engines is a real pita so I'm not going to suggest it.

guage is $35, rag is free. Depends on what you want out of the test. My test is just to see if you are uber screwed, but isn't for much more than that.

Did you figure out why the radiator is leaking? Did the bottom of the bumper push into it? Looks like the skid plate collapsed, looks kinda crumpled.

As you get things taken apart and repaired, take pictures for us. It would be interesting to see what parts bent (and hence, what could be reinforced, either on the bumper or the frame).

As to the leak... Be careful with the vehicle from this point, you could have real issues developing. Hopefully something simple happened, like the skid plate came up and broke off the drain valve. Could have cracked the radiator though, which would be a bigger deal.

I'm assuming insurance will be kicking in to cover the damage (probably hers, if the police report determines it is her fault)? If so, make sure you read up on the laws in HI. In Colorado, you are allowed to get your own repair bids (IE, you don't have to use the insurance company's shop), and they are required to pay you directly for the value of the repair - even if you don't take it to the shop you got the bid from, or even if you don't even fix it. They will try to fight you on this, suggest their own shops, tell you to send them a bill after it is fixed, etc. Make sure you research your rights in HI.

If the laws are similar to CO's, then I would get my bids at the dealership (no one can argue with them), then get my payout, do some work myself, and have anything else handled at a trusted local shop. Don't let them make you feel bad for accepting payment even for work you do yourself, because the repair still has a value - your time has a value.

Get an official invoice on the bumper from Relentless, too. If the mounts are significantly bent, then get them to pay for the replacement of the bumper - even if you end up having it repaired locally (it will never be a "new" bumper again).

thanks for the tips sam, will do on the picture taking part hopefully. going to get an estimate tomorrow. i have to get the work done by a shop that my insurance will cover. F**K idk the guy at the shop said the insurance dont cover the bumper only the OEM parts, but i thinking he talking about my insurance not the lady's one. cuz i aint going to pay shit. the adjuster for my claim said she talk to the lady's insurance company tomorrow as well as her to take her side of the story, which is hopefully and BETTER BE that she f**ked up and not me. Shouldve had the police take a written statement that she said she was at fault. will update tomorrow. to me it seems as if my ass is paying for all this shit up until now till she agrees that she was at fault. this is driving me nuts. thanks for the support though.
