Dude I would totally send you the deposit and have you make me one if I had the money. I want one like that SOOOO bad. It's REALLY tempting to borrow that money and send it to you knowing that there's a 1 in 10 chance that I'll only be about a hundred bucks outta pocket.

well i dont know much about winches but if i was going to get one i would probably go with a Warn and either get a m8000 or the xd9000. i've also thought about getting a cheaper winch with less power and just using pulley's everytime. the bumper has 8inch'es of clearance inside it though so just make sure you look at the specs before you buy one to make sure it'll fit

well a 100 bucks out of your pocket for a bumper sounds pretty good to me

    Lots of rust
They look sweet. Would you be willing to cut a deal If I went with all three? (bumper, sliders, shackle)

haven't done it on one of these yet but it will be the same style as my old bumper, how they came to a point around the fender by the corner light

As far as capacity, 8000 is about as low as I'd go. With 4 coils on the winch, that reduces it to about 6500.

As far as types, I assume that 8" is from front to back, and not side to side. The bumper itself doesn't really look like it'll lead for easy access to the connections, so I'd suggest getting one with a detachable solenoid pack so you can mount that elsewhere. I have an ARB bumper, so its a little different, but still not easy access. I ended up putting my solenoid pack in the engine bay. I tried it on top of the bumper, and it worked fine, but it just wasn't the look I wanted. I also decided to run wires to the cab for winch control, but thats another story.

I went with a Warn M8000 because they were running a special that came to almost half off after an ebay discount. The XD9000 (not the xd9000i) would be a good choice also. I was also considering Superwinch as they had gotten some good press at the time.

yes there is enought room to fit an xd9000 or an m8000. i made sure to look at the measurments on warn's site before i built this bumper. there are also pre drilled holes in the winch plate so you wont have to worry about doing that and your winch should bolt right in. i'm pretty sure you have to get a winch with the detachable solenoid or it will not fit in the bumper because of height.

But getting the initial THOUSAND is where I run into trouble. lol

How about we just skip the whole gambling part of it and you just sell me a bumper for a hundred and we will call it good... lol

You should make an aluminum one that doesn't weigh as much. that'd be awesome if it's doable.

sweet man and thanks a lot i'll be looking for a PM from you in the future
thanks dude i've put a lot of work in to it
well evenetually we will but probably not for a while because the equipment would cost around 1000$ to get started and weld aluminum. they would also be a lot more expensive because the cost of aluminum is around 3 times that of steel

As soon as I get settled in my new place I'm going to look at my finances and see if I can get one of these bumpers. Hopefully I will be able to.
