Throwing a cel, scanner says catalyst bank one low efficiency or something like that. I'm guessing its the O2 before the cat ? Sound right ?

I have a feeling that it is not right. A P0420 is catalytic converter low efficiency. That USUALLY, but not always, indicates either a bad catalytic converter, or a problem with the O2 sensor AFTER the cat, which is what measures the cats efficiency. An exact code number would help.
