    Howdy Y'All....

I have my 96 Taco Regular cab stripped down for a major overhaul. Have a new to me rust free box and tailgate. Same for passenger door etc. Gonna do a complete paint job in the original colour too.......Kinda excited. FGPT (the friendly name given to my truck) has 400,000 KM on the clock now and I'm the second owner......By best friend had from new and sadly passed of ALS 6 years ago. So i bought the truck from his estate but before he left us I told him I would keep the truck on the road as long as possible. He LOVED FGPT.

Sorry......to my question. I want to lift the truck and fit larger rims/tires. Kinda new to all this sort of thing so pls bear with me. Currently running 30.5's I'm sure on stock Hi-Lux rims. would like to give the truck a better look and stance.

Regardless of who's lift system I go with (so far thinking OME 3" with 5100's + Dakar springs etc) is there a rule of thumb on how far you can lift without compromising: Safety, handling, ride and off road usability. Would say I use 4X4 5% of my annual 30,000KM's. We have a rural holiday property and spend time hunting and fishing on logging type roads and occasionally beating through 3' sage brush to get to certain spots.

I'm beginning to like the look of the 6" Fabtech kit. Just gives the vehicle a really nice look. Would like to go to 33's too and dont want to cut fender liners etc. With regular cab I will have to add a canopy/cap to make it look balanced etc. My 7.3 F350 short hox has this and I really like the look and the use of dry space for my stuff etc.

Can you guys give me bullet points of for's and against's for 3" and 6" lift.

Sure this has all been covered before but here I'm not looking for a particular recommendation on manufacturer just the mechanical +'s and -'s.....

    Thanks in advance.....
