But I still just don't know how to make the code go away with the resistors I was hoping someone else has done this on the 3.4l

The motors themselves do pretty well.

What’s the most HP you can squeeze out of the 5VZ before it goes belly up?

A buddy of mine got his to 420whp and it's been a daily. The oil pump recently gave up though, but the bearings seem ok so im not sure what its doing atm. 350whp seems to be the safe spot though with a decent tune. If you wanna be in the 400 range you need a really good tune, probably not something the FIC can give

What do you think of twin charging?

Kinda pointless imo on a stock setup. If you did running the s/c through the intercooler that would be preferable. But the capacity to make power on a twincharged setup would definitely surpass the stock internals. PLus with a somewhat properly sized turbo boost can be had at just 2000-2200rpm anyway. However there is a 4runner with that setup out there on youtube and I wont lie its pretty awesome!

Gotcha. Just thinking what if I want to do a 5VZ swap or turbo the 3RZ.

Go aftermarket crate motor , these usually have 2-3yr warranties and you can also have it built with better flowing cylinder heads, higher compression and much larger camshaft profiles

If I was going crate, I'd want to go for that new Cummins drop in turbodiesel.

My options are super limited here because of California, I'm sure you'd understand haha. I'd have to remove the turbo every two years.

The 3rz seems to be more proven and cheaper to do but the 5vz is my personal favorite.

Have it built with CARB 50 state legal performance parts . You can build some serious hp using CARB legal parts

I have the 3RZ 4AT on my daily, and the 5MT Manual on my project truck. The 5VZ 5MT just feels infinitely more powerful than the 3RZ. I'd like to turbo the 3RZ one day, what's the most HP do you think I could push on my stock 3RZ block?

The whole engine swap thing is super complicated from a legal standpoint. Cummins crate is unreasonable because it's too expensive, but something like an LS7 could be made legal and is relatively cheap.

My dream engine swap is a 2JZ-GTE out of a Supra.

An LS7 out of a Z06 is what I'm thinking. Making it work with 4WD is the hard part.
