Just installed a rebuilt engine in my brother's Tacoma. Started up and issued a p0505 IAC code immediately. Replaced IAC valve, after trying to clean out the old one with SeaFoam. New valve measures 18.5 ohms pin 1-2 and 2-3, old valve was 20.4, 20.5 ohms, respectively, old valve had lots of carbon. Measured 12 volts on the IAC harness connector with key on engine off on pin 2, before installing the new valve. Checked all fuses OK, HVAC fan does not run(could this be related)?
Do pins 1 and 3 of the IAC go directly to the ECU, if so, which pins? Does anyone have a suggestion? A wiring diagram?

Thanks for the "welcomes and hospitalities"!

Is it possible that I need to bleed the cooling system, to get bubbles out of the IAC bypass coolant lines? Perhaps I have an air bubble in the IAC where it heats up the bi-metallic thermal coil spring?

The heater hoses loop up higher than the top of the radiator, before they enter the firewall. Perhaps, I must drive up a very steep hill, to purge the air out?

Found the IAC RSC wire came loose from the connector, bought some flying leads with connectors from Toyota, and installed into the connector housing. Nice to have that extra 6" of wire, to R&R the throttle body. Continuity from IAC connector to ECU E8 pin 9 and 10 is good. No more DTC P0505!

I now have 224.8 miles on this rebuilt motor over the course of a 5 hour test drive, uphill and down, but my OBD test tool shows that the EVAP, CAT and O2S have not yet completed. I can't get my smog cert until these are done. Are these tests based on time or miles?
