97 2wd rear end specs?

    i think im gonna drop a 4wd rear end under it with factory electronic locker with 4.10 factory gears and get the axles drilled to fit my 5 lug wheels.or just buy 2 6 lug wheels that are the same type as mine for the back.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Your gonna have to re do the spring perches on the axels. The 5 lug trucks use a Spring under mount, while the 4x4's and prerunners use a spring over axle mounting.,

    i can do it im a certified welder and machinists and ive been doing stuff like this since i was little.

    You couldve swapped an ford 8.8 from an explorer, with rear disks. Damn near a bolt up, with the same lug pattern and excellent aftermarket support. But its your time...and money.

    im running 456 in my 96 and love it, but im running 31's, and was told id get better mileage with 33's. this true? my mileage is terrible right now, but i think thats a whole nother problem

    Yes, you would get better milage. Plug your tire sizes in here, hit calculate, then look towards the bottom of the page.
