    Not meaning to sound bad, but how about take it to your local parts guy (advance, Napa, etc) and have them hook a scan tool up to it and look for possible codes. This will be more likely to lead you in the best direction. If you have a rapid up-down-up-down idle speed It could be caused by a number of things from throttle position sensor to airflow sensor or camshaft sensor.... Best to look at possible codes first instead of throwing parts at it in hopes that you will get it after $400 has been spent. Just my opinion.

    Ignitor code. It usually means that there is a problem in the spark control system of the coil pack. Considering the situation, I would consider re-inspecting the harness, and the path that the bullet traveled to verify no other broken wires. The 1300 is a manufacturer-specific code and will take a little bit of time to diagnose. When I get into work tomorrow I will see what I can find for you. If you can, just to verify, list year, make, model, engine and transmission type, and if there are any aftermarket mods.

    Thank you, every little thing is much appreciated.
    Its a 1997 2 wheel drive Tacoma standard cab, 5 speed manual transmission and 3RZ engine. Has air conditioning also. No aftermarket mods.

    I keep coming in here to check out how the OP is doing w/ his problem, see your sig, stare at it, forget what I came in *here* to look at, then go to another thread.

    I do this about 3 times a day.

    are you sure its not a 2rz?

    Only Prerunners and 4wd's have the 3rz IIRC....and the prerunner started in '98.

    2rz=2.4L

    3rz=2.7L
