new to the site i got me a 97 taco with hella frame rot....its actually tacoed its self already and been shittily repaired. meaning it broke in half like literally. so its got a flatbed on it just to hold it together my buddy gave me the tacoma a 98 4runner with good frame and engine but its a v6 not a 4 banger. and an 83 frame and 4speed. and ita a dually. its an old sunrader rv frame. i realy want to slap that tacona on that but i dunno if my tranny will bolt up to the drive shaft or if the 4speed will bolt up to the 4banger. and if i can work that out i dunno if itd be easier to cut the taco frame right behind doors and just cut the 83 frame and weld on the back half ive got a crane yes a crane and a mig welder and experience or should i do a cab swap. which is easier and if anybody has those compatibility list for 97 taco to 83 with 4speed for the tranny or drivshaft thatd be great thanks yall any advice is greatly apprciated. and that tacoma cab regular cab will fit on that 4runner frame right cause if its gonna be to complicated to do the 83 swap then ill just throw it on that frame. and im using alot of parts off that 4runner well nevermind thatll be another thread

No matter which way you go it will be interesting your going to get into fabricating quite a few things .

Just what do you really want??

Planning a solid Axle swap while this project is happening ??

The 4 Runner fame is different just the rear suspension .

Just what do you think is easier ??

Myself having done a few frame stretch`s over the years A frame splice on a little truck like these is simple compared to a cab swap at least to me .

Building a transition between the different size frames should not be major challenge just stay away from vertical welds make them in a Z or >
