found a 'hidden gem' in Sioux City Iowa today, the CaseysGS on the other side of town was 167c, 32c more & don't know why
lowest ppg paid on taco fuel since December-2oo3, almost 16.5 years
    north 75 south 77 adventure

1,25 Sioux City IA CaseyGS gas ~ 3.jpg

1,25 Sioux City IA CaseyGS gas ~ 1.jpg

^^^ at that price 1000 miles will cost $66
at many times during the last decade+ it took nearly $160 for the same 1000 miles
taco is liking this much better
... lots of snow from yesterday and windy AF up north on hwy20

got an ok deal ($30.99) on some fresh oil, lube and filter yesterday in Sioux City Iowa RickCollinsToyota
headed out of Sioux City west on hwy 20 (lots of rolling hills up north) to hwy 81 and south to Norfolk and then fueled up in Columbus with a price not seen since the spring/summer of 2oo2

it was quite a Taco adventure this past week, put on nearly 2500 miles into both rural mid west areas and the big city trails

i did find the inexpensive taco fuel that i was hunting for
this was after a 15c discount applied
    Wautoma 91c gas ~ 4.jpg

only once before have i ever seen this at the fuel pump, sometime in March 1999 in north Kansas City

    Wautoma 91c gas ~ 9.jpg

Casey's was not the place i filled up at here but their sign looks overall better

    2 nights in Chicago...

    Windy City Night ~ 12.jpg
    Windy City Night ~ 13.jpg
    windy city night

Found this little spot in Chicago to stay over 2 nights, at $25 per night was hard to beat and rather cleaned and the staff did their best to sanitize everything
parking was $4.50 between 11pm-midnight, no charge from midnight to 8am, was gone shortly after 7am both days

the 2 roommates I had were decent guys, one from Texas and the other from DeKalb

    windy city morning

started getting dark on route 136 in the middle of Illinois so stopped to rest at this 'secluded' old motor lodge outside of Havana near the Illinois river

completed what is known as the Outlaw Trail Scenic Route on 5/5 from South Sioux City to Valentine
    [IMG]

it took about 15 hours and close to 770 miles to Valentine and then back to base
i am glad that i filled the tank in Sioux City for 1,29 because i did not see more than 1 fuel station in 200 miles, a very rural part of this state
drove by the state forest near Halsey on state hwy 2 for the first time ever that i can recall, stayed north of Grand Corona Island and went through Hazard again

it took 277 months to finally hit 150k
just before having to cross the bridge into Iowa
it took just 2 months to clock 10k miles, 5k miles per month average, never done that before!
