OK I have a circuit board guy that is willing to give it a shot. I cleaned up the residue with a qtip and some rubbing alcohol and he thinks its worth a shot, hopefully nothing too major. In the meantime i will keep looking for replacement board just in case... *what a nightmare* :help:Its been since June of 2020 since ive been able to drive my baby :(:angrygirl::boom:

If the place is called 'Circuit Board Medics' I can't see why they would care WHAT the board is... Take off this 100mf capacitor, replace, repair the traces. If you're at the point where there's nothing to be done with this board, why not give it a try yourself? The capacitor is a cheap, easily sourced part, and all you need to do the work is a soldering iron, de-soldering pump, solder, flux, and some 'paint-on' trace. Worst-case scenario, you wind up with a dead board, and some nice, new tools!

They have specialized testing for boards that require certain technology and information. They said they are about to expand but they only do Rav-4 because they have a lot of computer problems. Seems like a decent Business Model. I Appreciate your enthusiuam but this guy is willing to do it for 80$. I would rather know for certain someone that knows what they are doing, has the tools, can test accordingly, can verify without a doubt that it is good to go. Then I have no doubt whether or not its the board and not my crappy craftsmenship(tech).

Ok! The truck cranked up and maintained a idle. Very roughly unfortunately. So I had the tech guy in Jackson solder on a new capacitor. He was a little worried the damage was to the board but cant really tell. But the truck started!
Now my question is. Where do i go from here.
I prob need to syphon that old gas (9 months) out and add some seafoam to help clear out the system. There was a lot of water and smoke coming out the exhaust but more importantly it idled really bad! But I dont know what to expect for a tacoma that has sat up for that long...
Any ideas? I'm hoping it's anything serious. My friend said maybe a head gasket cuz of all the water

    Fresh gas
    Clean/change plugs
Compression & leak-down test (to check rings, valves, & head-gasket)
Combustion gas in coolant test (to confirm head gasket)
Cooling system pressure test (to check cooling system and double-confirm head gasket)
    Change fluids
Scan for codes, check fuel trims

It's running much better now! Put some fresh gas and it cranked right up. Smoke cleared out and took it around the block! My buddy hooked up his code reader and everything is reading properly. Better than last time when my truck first died. Didnt read ANYTHING. So it definitely was the ECM causing the problems. To think one 10v capacitor shut down my entire truck and a computer tech fixed it... thank you guys for the support! Glad to be back in my Taco.

For what it is worth I had good dealings with a Company called Auto Ecm Electronics Grand Prairie Texas 888-326-1441 972-88-9922

I gotta say it was Back in 2013 things do change so Who Knows.

They rebuilt ECM`s from the late nineties on a exchange basis much better then brand new.

    Glad you have it running!!

Yea everytime I ask or look up my model I rarely find it. Its gotta be manual 4x4 3.4l and its 97. I'm not sure how much deviation I have from that. Can I get a computer with a different ecm number?

The pinouts will be different. It would be possible if you want to pull a bunch of pins.
