    2nd owner since 52k miles

A couple months ago I got a P0776 (pressure control solenoid b performance/stuck off) cel the truck shifted weird and rev up before going into gear but wouldn’t shift into overdrive or go above 40 mph. Went to Toyota and they told me I needed a trans couldn’t believe it so I decided to get a second opinion. Dropped off at a local trans shop. Also got bad news but after doing some research on here and reading papers the trans shop left in my truck I decided to get the trans flushed. The flush didn’t fix it either still no overdrive but no cel. I realized I could drive the truck in 4 instead of D without overdrive so I did. Got about 5k miles of driving in 4 and lost reverse Saturday?!?! Truck seems to drive forward fine but nothing happens in reverse my camera and reverse lights come on but truck just revs any help would be greatly appreciated

ordered a trans from a junkyard going to replace because I’m assuming it’s toast any input would be epic thanks in advance

Bummer. Do any towing? Have you had the transmission serviced before the symptoms started?

I remember talking with you a couple months ago .
Sad to hear you lost reverse .
Unfortunately , everything used to control reverse is completely mechanical . There are no solenoids or computer controls that fail to cause reverse to fail unless you are incredibly low on fluid
This means the transmission will have to come out and all apart .
There was a member on here 2 days ago selling a 2 wheel drive transmission for 500 bucks . You would have to swap the output shaft and 4x4 extension housing .

Yes definitely have done some towing I work for a trailer dealership and deliver trailers some times and also have a couple myself but nothing ever over recommended 6500 lbs. I have a brake controller and I am very conscious of how to properly load and drive with a trailer as far as service on trans before symptoms not to my knowledge as I got closer to 100k I planned on getting the recommended fluid change but didn’t make it lol

Do you tow in 4? Do anything to monitor your transmission temps?

nothing to register my trans temps but yes i have towed in 4 for most of my towing there were no symptoms of trans issues till the one day that i got the cel for the p0776

not sure about the linkage thing since i already knew i had some trans issue i just figured the trans murdered itself lol
